Always Works

I have been using TurboTax for many years now. Even though I can do on my own I just like the ease of use. I have never been disappointed.

This is my third year using Turbo Tax and it makes doing my tax returns so quick and easy.

This was the best tax preparation tool that I have ever used.
What's great about it: full coverage of all areas of the forms

User Friendly & Very Complete

Carrying forward forms from last year's tax return is a good thing. But sometimes a form from last year is not applicable to this year. On my son's return his K-1 form from his 2012 return was carried into his 2013, but it was NOT needed for his 2013 return. We checked your help system and found that other users had encountered the same "form carry-forward" problem regarding K-1s. We tried their suggested remedies but could not make them work.
As Murphy's Law would have it, TurboTax was also displaying a warning message to inform us that apparently the IRS would not be accepting K-1 data #via efile# until about Feb 13th. In our case this message was a source of a bit of additional confusion.
Finally we were able to find the place in his return where we could completely get rid of the K-1 form as being part of his 2013 return. Then we were able to quickly finish off his return and efile both federal and state.
But all's well that ends well. Perhaps we initially missed the place in the flow where we could have simply deleted the carry-forward provision of the K-1 data. Doing so would have saved us a lot of time and some frustration.
What's great about it: Very logical and comprehensive process flow through all tax categories
What's not so great: System navigation is sometimes not as direct as I would like.

Good, but not as good as last year!

I like the fact that it shows how probable it will be to be audited. It found some things that I didn't know were deductible but after reading the final file copy it was more involved than I had expected. If I do get audited it will be on these things.
All-in-all, I will do it again and again until I am dead.
What's great about it: All forms saved and printed out.
What's not so great: Because of circumstances I had to mail them in and could not use e-file.

Fees

Since we purchased TurboTax at the store, we were disappointed to have additional fees at the back end of the filing process. We think in fairness, the total fees should be charged up front at the time of purchase.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and thorough
What's not so great: Unexpected fees at the end of the process.
