Says free State e-file then it charges you for it. After paying for it you can't get to e-filing because it is stuck at HOW TO PAY screen.
What's great about it: Easy to use as far as filing out all needed info.
What's not so great: It says you get 1 free state efile but then it charges you.

I don't know how long I've used this product - probably 15 years or more. I like it a lot, which is why I keep buying it. There are a couple things that ought to be improved though. 1) During the final review process it gets your bank info, PIN, and a bunch of other things associated with the final review. You get to a point where the next click actually electronically files your taxes - and THEN it tells you that you have to download updates before you can e-file. Why didn't it ask me to do that earlier, during the review process? I had to revisit a number of screens to get back to the "one click away" screen - that should be changed. 2) When you mark something as estimated, it ought to be more obvious (e.g., red font, or italics, or something to show that the number you are looking at was marked as estimated.). 3) They should set a flag regarding the need to file state tax returns. It knows I live in WA and that we don't have state income taxes, and then it asks if I want to file a state return in any other state - I'm fine with that - my answer is no. But later, when it's going through the final review and e-filing, it again asks me if I want to file a state return - ummm... the answer is still no. Don't ask me the same questions twice...
What's great about it: Year to year info carries over, making it very simple each year.
What's not so great: The updating process during e-filing should be better

Easiest way to File

Very easy to use, step by step to get thru what used to be drudgery. Recommend it to anyone with minimal computer skills. You only need a little common sense and be able to follow simple directions.
What's great about it: Easy to understand-user friendly

Turbo Tax is esay to use

The step by step instructions and help links makes it very easy to file your taxes. Having used Turbo Tax since 2007 I really appreciate the prior year information being carried forward. Not only does it save time but it serves as a memory jogger if I reported something last year and did not have an entry this year. This has saved me money because it was only when I received the reminder that I realized I did not have the necessary tax documents which would have resulted in me owing a penalty in addition to the taxes.
What's great about it: Easy instructions and carries forward prior year tax info so you don't have to re-enter info
What's not so great: None
