Excellent Tax Software

Much better than filing the old fashoned way (Paper Forms) and takes a lot less time. Easy to use with step-by step instructions in the different fields of deductions, investment income, charities and other credits. Always up to date with the newest tax laws and current tax forms. I have been using this software for about 8 years and each year it seems to get better.

My 2013 Tax Experience with TTax

I like that Turbo-Tax imports from the prior year and calculates carry-over, prior year values, and things like that, which keep me from having to refer to the prior year's filing. Turbo-Tax navigation is good, though I still get lost at times in the interview view. I have learned how to look at the forms view, which is good.
My favorite feature, introduced last year of the year before, is the Flags capability, so I can mark question areas and return to them easily. They index my form for quick navigation also, and I like that.
I do think that with the market share Turbo-Tax already has, that it could be a bit less pricey for those of us with taxes a tad bit more complicated than the free-online-user version for people with pretty simple taxes. There are many, many aspects of taxes that don't apply for me -- perhaps that is where the cost redeems itself.
Year after year though, Turbo-Tax has been a great help, provided simplified e-filing, and has made tax season easier than it could be. The days of simply reading the form instructions and getting through taxes are long past for me. Turbo-Tax is my friend...though if someone had a less costly tool that would import my prior year filing as a starting point for next year, I could be persuaded to try something else.
What's great about it: Liked that it walked me through everything.
What's not so great: I think Turbo-Tax is more expensive than it needs to be. There is the free online version for people with simple taxes.

It was much easier than doing it by hand. I like the fact that you can update from previous years (if you are on the same computer), and that you can download important information. This makes it easier and faster.
