Turbo tax has made doing my taxes a less dreaded experience. They ask all the right questions and I appreciate the chance of audit function at the end.

2013 Individual Income Tax Preparation

I've used Turbo Tax for years, i previously practiced as a CPA but laws change and Turbo Tax makes it so easy that i believe it costs me more to do it manually then by purchasing Turbo Tax each year.
What's great about it: Easy, Fast, Efficient, Compares to last year information, accurate
What's not so great: Charges for State Tax E-filing

Good program but not perfect

made my tax return simple to do but failed to advise me of dependents. Because of this I claimed a personal dependent exemption on my daughter's return, failing to see the info buried in the choices. As a result I had to file an amended return for my daughter and an amended return for me. My daughter was getting back $600 and now she owes $500.
What's great about it: easy to use, quick
What's not so great: fails to pick up some errors

Taxes get Easier & Easier!

I love the TurboTax product. It really does keep getting easier to enter information each year. The questions are great at leading a person through the whole process.
What's great about it: Ease of Information Entry
What's not so great: Would like easier access to entries requiring updating

I did find one glitch. When I got the error check screen the program wanted to do a program update. I clicked OK. The program was slow so I clicked OK again. The result was that I received an error saying that I cancelled the update. What I believe happened is that the program took my second click as if I had clicked on the "cancel" button on the following update screen. As a former programmer I figured out how to get around this situation, by only clicking once when I tried it again. However, impatient nonprogrammers might get very frustrated when getting to this point. Oh, make state tax returns more like the federal when it comes to user friendliness.

I have used Turbo Tax for at least the last six years maybe more. I have always found it much easier than the old method of manual entries and calculations.
What's great about it: Very easy to use the guide.
What's not so great: Boxes for entering are hard to see with older eyes.

The one thing that I would suggest is the ability to not have to enter health information twice for people that have (for example) a working wife covered under the husband's insurance. Everything else was great..
