TurboTax - Worth it or Not?

Best bet!
What's great about it: Detailed - Quick - Informative - Easy as ABC...
What's not so great: I dont use it to help others as a business. It would be pie!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I love TurboTax

Having been a professional tax preparer for many years up until the past few years, I've been very impressed with the TurboTax software. For years I had used the Intuit Professional Tax Preparation software, so I was very familiar with Intuit's great reputation. In the year that I weaned myself away from preparing taxes professionally, I recommended TurboTax to my previous tax clients & a few members of my church. They were also impressed with the ease of use. In preparing this year's returns, TurboTax reminded of an item which I had forgotten, which increased our refund by several hundred dollars! I will continue to use TurboTax until we no longer are required to file tax returns! :-)
What's great about it: Ease of use, many help links and price
What's not so great: Inability tot preview partially completed returns - no biggie!

Best Customer Service...EVER!

This is the second year in a row ive used turbo tax/snap tax. Its the easiest fastest and most convenient way to do-it-yourself tax preparation. I had a little issue filing this year, felt a little airheaded for a moment, but it was an easy fix. I called customer service and they guided and helped me step by step, you just dont find really helpful people nowadays like the representatives at turbo tax. keep up the good work and i would definitely use this year after year and recommend it to others. PS...big thanks to katie, steven, richard and the rest of the turbo tax crew, see you next year guys, you all rock! \m/
What's great about it: Easy to use, hassle free, step by step through all potential credits and deductions.
What's not so great: No problemo what so ever.

directions are so easy to follow, the supporting worksheets are very comprehensive - why pay a tax preparation service when you can do it yourself within 2 hours or less????

Turbo Tax is a great product! Very easy to use. This is the first time that I have figured our taxes. It is a step-by-step program and answered all of my questions. I WILL buy this product again next year!
What's great about it: I have never filed my own taxes before and this product walks you through the steps.
What's not so great: NONE!

I will rate turbo tax on the same level as HR block software. However, the first time user should read each and every description before moving forward as sometimes it is a triffle difficult to intrepret the question correctly.
What's great about it: The detailed process of entering both income and deductions
What's not so great: None

glitch in the system

there is a glitch in the system that make you uninstall the software on your mac computer when it needs an update that they haven't fixed its a really pain but overall everything worked out just took longer then expected
What's great about it: fast,easy,fun
What's not so great: had to uninstall the application twice

marginal help

my w-2's would not upload from last year. I had to get an administrator's permission to download the updates I needed, and so I'll never buy the cd again! Finallly, when I went to pay, it drove me absolutely nuts trying to get a proper login and password. Wasted an hour!
What's great about it: clear questions
What's not so great: poor update information
