Easier Than Eating Pie

I've been using Turbo Tax for about 5 years now, and it gets easier each year. I like the step by step guidance and explanations through each category. I always feel comfortable using Turbo Tax, and whenever I tell my friends that I completed my own taxes without hiring a professional accountant they get jealous. Thank you!
What's great about it: I liked the option of being guided through or selecting your own areas to complete.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Screwed up Mssissipi Tax Transfer

Mississippi State Taxes did not transfer right, showed Office of Personnel Management, Retirement Operations as TAXABLE, not so.
I had to complete Form 1099b from the bottom of page to information you said state needed above. WHY DIDN'T YOU COMPLETE LIKE ALWAYS BEFORE???
I had to keep inputting that information in and just came back asking for some thing else.(What a screw up!#
I consider the transfer of Mississippi Taxes a complete failure, I worked probably two #2) days trying to straighten out the mess!
One more screw up like this means I will never use TURBO TAX again after many years!
What's great about it: Federal worked good.
What's not so great: Mississippi transfer was a disaster, didn't transfer correctly.

Turbo Tax addict

I love love love Turbo Tax. I have used it for several years now and wont go anywhere else. It makes doing my taxes MYSELF much easier. And all the money from my refund stays in my pocket

Software Update

After several attempts, I tried to update the software as required by Turbo Tax before I could submit my return. It just kept saying updates required and it would take 7 minutes to download. It never downloaded even after waiting 30 minutes.
I eventually went on line and searched for "Turbo Tax Software update does not load." I eventually found a link thru Intuit that provided the download. After that everything worked fine. The other issue was it wouldn't let me submit until I provided a state and zip code for two of the payers. When I checked my inputs they were already there.

What's great about it: Pretty comprehensive.

Easy and fast!

All in all I thought it was pretty easy to use once I got the hang of it. Alot of redundancy though - but I guess that's to make sure you don't miss anything. I thought the cost was reasonable. I don't think I'd use this if my tax return was complicated though, would rather spend the money and have a professional tax person go through everything.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Hard to go back and forth in the program-redundancy
