If you can read, then you can use Turbo Tax. It gives you a updated dollar refund or owe as you go. No surprises.
What's great about it: Flawless
What's not so great: Could not find answer about privlidge tax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax is great. It imports your information from previous year, most of the time you can import your W2 information and it does all of the math calculations for you. How could anyone not love this. I spent the morning on my day off getting this done and that's all the time it took. Easy and now all I have to wait for is my refund to hit my checking account! See you next year Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Love how easy Turbo Tax is and how it automatically inputs your information from the previous year. Taxes are fun now!
What's not so great: Only thing I can think of is maybe simpler explanations when you want to "learn more" about some options.

early completion a little rocky (FAFSA)

I like TT because it walks you through all aspects of the tax code based on your situation. however going back an editing sections as updates become available was somewhat tedious. the error check produced several items to fix. it was hard to understand what it was asking for or where the errors were generated from. using the online community was helpful in these matters.
What's great about it: if you have all of the info things go very smooth.
What's not so great: I wanted to do my taxes early this year so i could file a FAFSA for college. Not all forms i needed were ready in JAN

Great Experience

This is the umpteenth time I have used Turbo Tax and this year I can honestly state it was the easiest. Software was up to date at the time of purchase, the walk through interview process was correctly and accurately threaded, and the software updates were very manageable (batched as opposed to each and every time I opened the program).
What's great about it: Fast easy reliable accurate

This is the best program for preparing taxes. From 1-10, 10 being the best I would have to give it a 20. Also free e-filing for federal taxes is a plus.
