Items for Medical Expenses are somewhat confusing with so many detailed parts needed, unlike actual paper return.

Michigan State Deductions problem

Did not have the latest changes to the Individual Income tax For Retirement Benefits. Had to manually override Standard deductions for pensions from governmental agencies not covered by the Social Security Act.

Painless and Easy

Installed easily and updated without problem. Retrieving info from last years return is nice. Some questions are still too arcane but the pop-up Help explanations smooth it some. Mine was a simple return but having the program run in "interview" mode makes it even simpler. Turbo Tax takes the pain out of filing a Federal return.
What's great about it: Took the pain out reading the IRS instructions.
What's not so great: Some questions still require thought before answering.

Love turbo tax saves time and money from sitting with an accountant who is basically using the same software
What's great about it: easy to use and walks you through everything

I have been a faithful user of Turbo Tax for nearly 20 years now. I really like the program. But it frustrates me every year that I am unable to scroll with a mouse or trackball within the program. Seems simple but very annoying to have to use the cursor to move the pages up and down.
What's not so great: no scrolling

Can't be much easier

I've been using Turbo Tax for years. I'll like how it transfers previous information forward from previous returns to save time and eliminate any possible errors. I used to stress a great deal in preparing my taxes, but Turbo Tax has essentially eliminated a lot of that.
What's great about it: Error review and risk calculator
What's not so great: State didn't have full updates by Jan. 31st.

Love Turbo Tax!

For those who want to attempt to do their own taxes, this is the best program out there....I believe anyone can do their own taxes using Turbo Tax.....I used to be a tax preparer for the major Tax company....and tried their program, as did a good friend of mine (who also had worked for the same company).....we had so much difficulty with it....so we returned the program and went to Turbo Tax...this was almost 10 years ago and I won't switch and neither will she.
What's great about it: Simple to use...help when I need it...great checking system!
What's not so great: Can't think of any...

Some stages seemed to be poorly designed, awkward to utilize and slow to function. And I can't believe your review system wouldn't accept my nickname because it was too short-less than four letters. You don't recognize Jim, Tim, Kim etc? That needs to be changed... Americans use a lot of very short nicknames...
What's great about it: Excellent for a fairly simple return
