I have used Turbo Tax for several years and I can honestly say that each year I see improvements in the instructions presented, the speed that calculations are made to rep[ort results anad the error checking at the end.
What's great about it: Very straight forward in following instructions. gives very good examples and explanations why certain items are requir
What's not so great: After I completed a section and then went back to update later, some of the data I input initially is not displayed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Rocked a very late return

Get's me through a hard job

I worked through the taxes, using the information stored from previous years. My wife used to do these, and now that she has died, I had to take up the job. I think I got it worked out pretty well based on her records and the information available through the program. I would recommend it.
What's great about it: Walks through with helpful links to information
What's not so great: Some questions don't have a good explanation

I WAITED TILL OCTOBER - U WERE READY

Once again your marvelous software saved me from my procrastination. It was so easy to navigate the mine fields of K-1 Schedules and stock transactions. The feeling of knowing all transactions hit the proper forms and the calculations are accurate makes me a repeat and very happy customer.
What's great about it: Your reviews! It's nice to be kept alert when pushing the extension envelope.
What's not so great: None. That's refreshing.

Hard to roll over refund

I was done with my taxes and had a huge refund, and wanted very badly to apply some to my next year's taxes. I had to look long and hard and spend considerable time working this out. Perhaps the step by step should have an EASY tab to click on and make it happen. That would have helped me bunches!
Also I had a general problem of having to start over with all the step by step questions whenever I left to look at another form. I wish there was a way to have the interview hold my place.
Generally I enjoy using Turbo Tax and have for over 10 years.

I want ONE place to enter mortgage, utilities, etc. which apply to the whole building and have turbotax compute the values based on the percentages. In my case I rent out 78%, live in 11%, and office takes up 11%, and that's a pain to keep track of by hand.
The topic list is awkward to use - liked the older global list of topics when doing steps by hand.
What's not so great: Not all buttons are 'sticky' so I have to re-click every time through.

Best Game in Town

There are some times whole categories that just don't apply to some of us, but we can't get to E-filing without slogging though the all the entire categories one question at a time.
What's great about it: It walks you through the myriad questions that need to be answered
What's not so great: Needs the capability to opt out of a catagory
Pros: I bought or sold investments
