Powerful and Accurate

Makes doing one's taxes as interesting as any game. The cash register at the top of the screen is a brilliant idea.
What's great about it: The Interview Process is excellent and the final audit for other deductions and errors are well done.
What's not so great: Very few complaints

Softwear improves every year & builds confidence

Great clarificaton along the way. Turbo Tax helps you learn to record and save your catergories of receipts throughout the year. It makes tax time less stressful when you have the plan in place for the year ahead. Over the years the software has become more user friendly every year. 2013 was a breeze.
What's great about it: Step by step process helps build confidence in your skills needed
What's not so great: We have to go back to topics to review on our own and confusing how to go there quickly.

Better direction to the IRA form. Should be pointed to that by age or a question about are you required to takean RMD.

Couple of Glitches, but Overall Good

I've been using TT for years. I don't know how I'd do my taxes without them. But this year, I had some unique situations and had to go into uncharted territory. There were some questions that were not clear to me and that caused me to waste a lot of time (e.g., questions around excess IRA contributions, what to do with an asset that was not sold, but just no longer worked and had to be replaced). It would have been helpful to have a parenthetical here and there, or some slightly better explanations in the Help pop-ups.
What's great about it: could call for help
What's not so great: questions did not seem as clear as previous years

Review Glitches

Over the past couple of years I have had problems when reviewing a finished return. Today I lost $155.00while back- clicking and using the review processes.
You need a storage app that allows me to save multiple versions on my 1040 page during the process. Then I could check back to find change errors. Thank you.
