I love Turbo Tax!

I love the easy and simplicity with which I can do my taxes. I have been using since 2009 and will not go to anything else.
What's great about it: Easy accessibility to prior year information
What's not so great: Having to do my taxes - not Turbo Tax's fault%

Turbo Tax Works Great!

The forms are easy to fill out and provide excellent insight into your results. Real-time refund tracking is a nice topuch as well.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, complete and helpful
What's not so great: Online payment link did not work for filing....always timed out before I could enter any credit card data.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall very good, but tedious.
What's great about it: Very thorough.
What's not so great: The steps of questions asked are not consistent with how I prepared my tax data. Would like to see questions first.

It does not tell you if you had an NOL. I had one in 2010 and didn't know it so I didn't claim appropriate additional refunds in 2008 and 2009 and 2011. I stumbled on it myself in 2012 and had to pay an accountant to refile 08, 09, and 10 to get back about $5000 in taxes. I also had the accountant prepare 2012 and discovered I had an NOL that year too. I dont mind having to prepare Form 1045 myself but TT should tell me I have an NOL and advise me to get form 1045 to calculate possible refunds in prior years and to calculate NOL carry forwards.
TT's AMT support is essentially useless in that it tells me to make whatever adjustments are needed to properly calculate the correct AMT. It provides no other information on how to determine those "adjustments".

What's great about it: Easy Q & A format for most common data
What's not so great: Weak in handling NOLs, and AMT. No support for Form 1045

I have used the product for more than five years, I am a former CPA. The program is an excellent value. I especially like the free e-filing.
What's great about it: very quick movimg around the program
What's not so great: could use better search function to find a topic

LOVE TURBO TAX! USE IT EVERY YEAR

TurboTax makes me feel like a tax wizard! I could not go it alone without it.
What's great about it: Guides me through all the complexities on filing income tax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
