OK - but disappointing

I have been using TurboTax for a very long time. I loved its WYSIWYG forms, its autocalculation, and its support for estimated values. I would sketch in my return with estimated values, see where I stood, and then repeatedly refine the return until it was complete.
Over the years, I have lost features I loved - one was "cross reference" which would show you where a value came from. You can still sometimes double-click on a value to get to the form it came from, but often you cannot - the value is calculated but there is no way to know what values are used in the calculation. In the past, all estimated values would appear in the list of errors to be corrected, but that also seems to have disappeared. I had to go form to form to see if there were any estimated values and then fix them.
These two lost features were annoyances, but this year I discovered AFTER E-Filing my return using TurboTax Deluxe that I would have to manually fill out form 8949 itemizing all of my capital gain transactions. Apparently the Premiere version does this for you, but not Deluxe. Would have been nice to have been told that. Instead I got a message after E-Filing that I should send in form 8949 with no explanation for why the form was not already filled out by TurboTax. Since I have already E-Filed, I am reluctant to upgrade to Premiere now but I really do not want to do this form by hand. I am still fuming!
What's great about it: WYSIWYG Forms; Ability to shift back and forth from forms to interview
What's not so great: Estimated amounts not flagged as errors, form 8949 not supported
Pros: I bought or sold investments

On a K-1 1065 line 16 showed two foreign incomes. error5 check wouldn't let me go on until I corrected this error. it said I had to file a seperate K-1, but gave no help on how to do so. I finally had to omit a number on my return to file. I will have to ammend this later'
Very dissappointed!
Doug

Federal e-file keeps rejecting for 2013 filing when I'm doing nothing different from prior years.
Entering an acceptable nickname on this form is also a pain in the derriere!
What's great about it: Proven
What's not so great: get locked into "tax filing for dummies" and can't quickly access certain fields without repeating certain answers to qu

I'll probably use TurboTax again in 2015

I've used TurboTax before for several years but not the last several. I'd thought it would be more improved for this year. I don't think it is.
It transferred required IRA withdrawals into PA return as taxable when they are not and didn't ask me before doing so. Gave me quite a jolt when it showed me owing thousands of dollars to PA that I didn't.
When I mistakenly entered a very high amount for prescriptions, it didn't flag that to me, though the amount was far out of line with the rest of medical expenses. Alerts about such things would be a help.
What's great about it: It calculated well. It showed me forms simply.
What's not so great: It did not transfer well into PA tax return
Pros: I moved

Great Software!

Would give TurboTax 5 Stars except that sometimes, maybe because of my lack of knowledge or understanding of the system, it is hard to navigate back to previous categories for information that needs to be edited, corrected or changed. All in all, Turbotax is great! Don't know what I would do without this tax software!
What's great about it: Makes the complex task of putting together a return easy. TurboTax gives the customer peace of mind.
What's not so great: Some IRS categories of items are hard to understand. Trust that Turbotax has it covered.
