Turbo is Thorough

Software leads you through return step by step and does a confirming analysis at the end with an audit risk assessment. The questions are great to make sure did not miss anything. The audit protection is a nice feature that provides peace of mind that I will be represented if IRS audits our return.
What's great about it: Covers all of the areas with good questions
What's not so great: Filing Extension is by mail

A little vague

Turbo Tax Deluxe 2103 found 14 errors in the first review. They were all related to expenses from a business I had in 2012 but no longer had in 2013. Once I realized (after about an hour of frustration) what the problem was I just deleted the business and that part was fine.
In the charitable deductions area under non-monetary items (like clothes) it tells me to type "Various" if there were multiple times for donations. But then the error check flagged it and tells me I have to enter a date. After I entered a date it was fine.
What's great about it: liked quickness based on last year's return
What's not so great: definations of errors are hard to understand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I had an extension and have been trying several times to e-file my federal and state returns and I keep getting this message of I need to get updates before I can file. I have done updates and I still cannot e-file.

my life made easier

I used the Turbo Tax Deluxe and have a fairly straightforward return and very little time. I did this in early April to determine if we owed anything to send in with our extension. We did, we paid and when I went to do the return for the filing deadline only a few days away, not only did it take less than an hour but I received an accolade of "great tax planning!" since I neither owed nor receiving a refund - 0 -

Quite frankly I don't remember how many years I have used TurboTax but I keep coming back because of the consistency, the helpful popups to questions and the processing.

I have used TurboTax for many years and like the fact that information is transferred from prior tax returns. The process is logical and detailed.
What's great about it: Was relatively simple
What's not so great: Had to consult tax expert to find answers

2013 Review TurboTax Program

Program fails to carry forward previous years categories and amounts with a column for the current year input and the use of comparison.
Not nearly as user friendly.
Font is too small on many screen. Allow an option for that.
Ability to edit previously entered data is confusing.

What's great about it: Tracking of Amoumt owed or Refund amount.
What's not so great: Worst year ever. No carry forward of data from last return.
