Easy Return

I've used turbo tax for years now and simply find it very easy to use and follow the directions. If you can read, you can file your own taxes using Turbo Tax

I did it myself!

I was very skeptical about using this program at first. I thought there had to be a gimmick or a catch. I figured you had to go to a professional tax preparer if you wanted to ensure your taxes are done accurately and well. However, after using TurboTax I wonder why I waited so long! After years of paying hundreds of dollars to get my taxes done by big name tax preparing companies, I now know I will never have to do that again! TurboTax walked me through every step of the process and got me the same return, if not more, than those companies did. This year, I'm going to enjoy a weekend away with my daughter instead of paying huge amounts to do my taxes.
What's great about it: Filing my taxes without a professional, with confidence that TurboTax helped me do them correctly.
What's not so great: Took longer than I expected.

Turbo-Tax AGAIN

After having filed tax returns professionally (by hand & calculator) for many years, I've used Turbo-Tax nearly 20 years. What a relief - no real stress.
What's great about it: Easier every year
What's not so great: 10/08/2014 had to wait for update should have had 12/31/2013

Reliable as ever

I had a very difficult tax year where we owed a lot of money. At a family member's request, we had a professional review the return, after being processed by TurboTax. The professional was not able to find any additional deductions. (I was not terribly surprised.)
The only complaints I have are, it would be extremely useful to add a feature that makes it easy to compare Married filing jointly vs. separately status. In other words, a wizard that let's you easily split up a joint return, and move deductions from one tax payer to another and see the results quickly. Its very tedious to do this manually.
I find that the tax due meters are some what quirky and don't always update correctly. A REALLY Nice feature would be to allow two state meters to display at once.
What's great about it: I have been using TurboTax for about 7 years now. I find it does the same job I used to pay a professional to do.
What's not so great: Still no easy way to compare married filing jointly, vs. seperately status.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No end to problems

As a pastor I have a housing allowance--this year I could not correct the mistakes on this once entered. When I printed the entire return with worksheets I found that it entered my housing allowance on the state return at over $4 million--obviously an error, but I could not find a way to correct that either. In the other wages and income--there was an entry--not sure how that got there but that was incorrect, I kept going through the steps to "add, delete" but it never showed up. I finally had to file an extension and now go to a CPA for help. Once I got back from the CPA, I tried again to make corrections but Turbo tax would not let me do that.
What's great about it: Able to do simple returns for my adult children with no problem
What's not so great: turbo tax made multiple mistakes and I could not correct them
