saves a lot of white out.

I do not think TurboTax saves me much time, but it is sure a lot easier to correct mistakes: it saves lot of whiteout. Also, I can do it for a while and then not do it for a week or two, and come back and pick up where I stopped.
What's great about it: You do the guiding, adding, and reminding
What's not so great: i still have to make a bunch of spread sheets

Worse than in the past. Needs serious enhancements

Never could get NR return for state of NC to work. Ended up submitting manually. Downloaded stock data from Fidelity but most of it was missing and I had to enter manually.. Many major financial institutions not connected. Why can't more of last year's return transfer over, especially charities that I have to re-enter every year?
Should be an easy way to link new with prior returns for transfer of more data.

reliable every year

I've used Turbotax for about 14 years now, with very few problems or issues. I love the fact that it saves my info from year to year, so I don't have to re-invent the wheel every time. And, "knock on wood", I've never been audited, though I always get the audit representation, just in case.
What's great about it: simple, logical, detailed
What's not so great: a few inconsistencies or quirks in the software or procedures from time to time

My 2014 Return

Great product, keep updating and improving the product. It seems to be getting a little more complicated than in the past, but that is the result of the tax code.
What's great about it: Takes the worry about errors in calcutations; puts entries where they belong.
What's not so great: Not enough info (instructions) for figuring the MRD
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using Turbo Tax for a few years and it does get easier each year. I think the upgrades to the program have helped. I am a bookkeeper and do taxes for family and friends each year so it is easier for me to understand how to complete the info. I do think that, especially for people that itemize, Turbo Tax could be challenging.
What's great about it: ease of getting info direct from financial institutes eliminates of lot of typing
What's not so great: sometimes instructions are not too clear
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Fed and State Taxes

we have 401 k accounts which left us no room or form to list them. It only asked if we received payments from them? and since they are long term I said no, we did not receive payments from them. But in the past we have listed them anyways.
What's great about it: It was real easy and fast
What's not so great: Different Forms than last year kind of Scary
