Easy and No stress

Turbo Tax is very thorough except: On the completed 1040 form line 77 shows an amount for penalty/interest but there's no explanation as to why this was added and how this is calculated. I filed an extension on time and I received a refund from both federal and state. I have no idea WHY I have an amount owing for penalty or interest.
What's great about it: First time I e-filed; very easy
What's not so great: penalty/interest amount not explained anywhere

I bought Audit Defense before doing my taxes. When the program asks me to buy Audit Defense, allow me a place to say that I already have it.
What's great about it: Easy to follow.
What's not so great: When asking clients to buy Audit Defense, give them a chance to say that they already bought it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall I use TurboTax for filing my return and those of my family. I also use the Business Edition in my work. I have been using it for many years and would not change.
What's great about it: TurboTax is easy for those who know a little about taxes.
What's not so great: Having to turn off the firewall is a pain.

2013 Turbo Tax Review
on September 15, 2014

I have been using Turbo Tax since the 1990's. I like that the program gets the info from prior years. However, I have had occasions where I've filed an amendment or have updated a prior year's return before it was filed. Turbo Tax doesn't appear to have a capability to go back and update the prior year's returns based on an amendment or changes made after getting the information for the current year.
In addition, I really miss the feature contained in the 2010-2011 versions of Turbo Tax that allowed me to make a CD containing the program and tax returns.
Overall, I've had really good luck with Turbo Tax and like the features and tools contained.
Thanks, Darrell
What's great about it: Like ability to use guidelines or choose your own areas to update. Have been using Turbo Tax since 1990's
What's not so great: 2013 version no longer has capability to save return and program to a CD . Need ability to update data from prior years

Very thorough, detailed process to do my tax return.
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: After going back using the "back" button to check or edit an item there needs to be a way to get back to where your were

Lower the state efile fee
on September 18, 2014

I have been use Turbo tax for over 15 years now. I am pleased to keep using it but there are few thing I think turbo tax need to improve. Some of the forms that carrying over for more than 10 years that still have to file every year. I hope there is an option to delete them if it will not make any different in the future. Most of all is the state e-file fee is going up gradually by years. This year is turing to a point that I am either change to another software or just mail the return as I use the software for several of my family memeber. Over all, the cost is going crazy to the point that I have to recosider using it or not.
What's not so great: The state efile fee went too crazy

This is probably the 7th or 8th year that I have used Turbo-Tax to do my taxes and I really love this program. My only complaint this year is that I couldn't get a form that the program didn't think that I needed for filing my state tax on-line. I had to print my state forms and mail them. That was a waste of time and paper to me.
What's great about it: Continuous work when ever needed
What's not so great: Needing forms that the program didn't think I needed
