Easy to use

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and find it to be easy to use and accurate. I use the prior year's returns to prepare a file or notebook to gather information for tax prep for the next year. That way I am ready to file as soon as the needed forms arrive in Jan or Feb of the next year.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and use, helpful resources
What's not so great: IRS regulations are sometimes complex - not the fault of Turbo Tax

horrible experience

bought TurboTax Deluxe for 1st time. Big mistake. I paid $30 more for nothing more than basic. Its Deductible was so cumbersome I didn't use it. When I did my first update it corrupted the original copy of the application and put it out on the external drive where the file was. Then when I saved it without a password it gave one anyway that I wasn't privy to so I had to start all over again. Somehow on the first run it told me I had over $1000 more in refund than when I had to redo so I could review it and I input all the same info as the first time. Then, when I went to e-file it couldn't do it. It said I needed to update but when I tried there were no updates. I ended up filing by mail. I hope they don't charge me for the state e-file since it never went. That would be the final straw!

Having used TurboTax for several years speaks for itself that I am very much pleased with this outstanding program. i intend to see you for my 2014 filing.
What's great about it: income and expenses well covered
What's not so great: could not review on screen before e-file

First time TurboTax user

This was my first experience with TurboTax. I had always used a tax preparer, but after enduring an audit, I found out that numerous mistakes had been made over the years and I got stung with significant bills for back taxes! After using TurboTax, I wish I had started using TurboTax since I started filing tax returns! It was very easy, intuitive and stepped me through the process to make sure I covered all the tax bases and got the maximum return. Considering I started out living in Europe, then moved to California and worked in Virginia for part of the year and ultimately moved to Nevada, I was pleasantly surprised how simple the process was. Thanks TurboTax!
What's great about it: Very easy and you are stepped through everything. Lots of resources to assist you.
What's not so great: Not perfectly set up for someone who lived/lives overseas and/or moved from overseas back to the USA
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Easier Each Year

This seems to be getting easier each year. The in-program explanations are easier to understand all the time. They seem to be listening to feedback. Some of the state items are still confusing.
What's great about it: Easy to Understand Prompts
What's not so great: More attention needed on each state

Thorough and trusted

It would be very helpful to have a way to edit inaccuracies or errors on the forms themselves or a feature that allows you to go directly to the worksheet to reenter. It is painful to have to reenter all of the information when an error is discovered.
What's great about it: very detailed with lots of checks for accuracy
What's not so great: Not able to fix errors easily without needing to reenter it all
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2012 late refund finally filed!

Love that Turbo tax is super easy to use! I've been filing with Turbo tax since 2009 and i love it. Couldnt find the customer service # easily but when i finally reached someone they went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered. Super happy I finally got this out the way! Would def use products again.
