I feel confident when working through the TurboTax steps that I am getting the most money back and have a fully compliant tax document when I hit "Send". This may be available and I'm just not aware of it but, it would be nice to have a preview of all the changes that were made from the previous year.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Filing fee for state return. I already paid for the product, why pay for filing too?

Frustrated by the final step!

I have used TurboTax for many years. I have not had any issues in filing using this product for at least 15 years. I have always been happy with the use of the software and the results I have gotten. This year however, I ran into an issue with the program not recognizing my wife's signature for e filing. I made many phone calls to Turbotax and the IRS. In the end I had to file for an extension and had to file a paper copy for both State and Federal. Was very frustrating and I am disappointed that this could not be resolved electronically, in a more efficient way.
What's great about it: Input and interview process was a plus
What's not so great: Ran into a technical issue that TurboTax and the IRS could not resolve
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Form 1040 for 2013 Taxex

I had some trouble figuring out where the numbers I had entered several weeks (maybe months) ago had come from.
What's great about it: Generally speaking, following Turbo Tax instructions for filling out Form 1040 went well.
What's not so great: Updating previously entered numbers

Not enough "life changes" categories to check. I had a major one, my husband passed away while he was working on the return. I think that qualifies as life changing.
What's great about it: Basically easy to use. State of Mass items were a pain at the end, Insurance related.
What's not so great: Don't undertand why I had to pay for state e-file???? very disappointing

Buy Quicken, it will make your life easier. Buy TurboTax, it works pretty darn well with Quicken.
2 things that still bug me 1) There are still half-a-dozen areas where the Quicken/TT integration could be tighter. Charitable Contributions is #1 on the list. Yes, there is "It's Deductible" but as far as I can tell, if I enter the info into It's Deductible, I still have to enter it again into Quicken. That's not a solution
2) Dear TurboTax writers.... I know that you see the interface everyday so you don't notice all the little discrepancies that drive a user nuts. Many of your questions ask "What" the user wants to do, but they don't say "Why" the user should choose one answer or the other. Remember you always have to answer the question "Why". Like a good Journal Entry memo that tells the reviewer "Why" the JE was needed.
Thanks for listening....
What's great about it: The tight integration with Quicken
What's not so great: The little things that still could be integrated better w/Quicken
Pros: I bought or sold investments
