Last year I filled on-line and this year I purchased the disc. Still, I was not able to download the personal information from last year. Other than than, I prefer Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Complete and easy to follow.
What's not so great: Too many areas to review that are irrelevant

The BEST for me

I've been "TurboTaxing" since 2000. For my "situation," (i.e. Married, joint-file; 1-4 income streams; average deductions), I've found answering a few questions and being guided by experts is very reassuring. TurboTax software's careful return analysis eliminates or minimizes audit flags. So, BEFORE the return goes to IRS, return acceptance is further ensured. It'sDeductable is a great asset all year long. Why throw $$ down the drain, when you can legally and legitimately claim deductions and boost your refund or minimize your payments to the IRS. Finally, the Audit Defense option brings a level of confidence with guaranteed representation, if necessary. In my humble, yet accurate opinion, all INTUIT products & services are well worth every penny! It's great to receive/use free stuff sometimes, but you do get what you pay for. The peace-of-mind INTUIT products bring is very valuable to me.
What's great about it: Intuit-ive, Easy-to-use (Q & A format)
What's not so great: Better luck with CD/download version _ Online version can take too long / lose a little data

Difficult to file state by mail with e-file of fed

After e-filing federal (free), it is confusing how to file state by mail. The Turbotax fee for e-filing state is not worth it, but then the software makes it as difficult as possible to file state by mail. There is no clear option to e-file federal but mail state. Eventually figured out you have to come back in and pretend you are also filing federal (again, this time by mail), then finally you can print the documents for state. This should be obvious and easy, if not reducing this ridiculous extra charge to e-file state.

It's better than it was 4-5 years ago & better than any other product out there. I'll continue to use it if the price doesn't increase any more. I feel 1 state e-file should also be included at no cost (or at least a more reasonable cost.
What's great about it: easy to follow/find forms
What's not so great: not much help answering questions at the help center

Last years return was not saved correctly. Hopefully this year will not be that way. I could not access 2012 return because of this and could not transfer correctly. I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and this is the first time this happened. Thus I am just filing my 2013 return.
What's great about it: Instant instructions
What's not so great: Not able to save for next year.
