Turbo Tax Is Worth the Effort

It took several years and many notes to get comfortable with TT, but given the complexity of the tax code (and such horrors as AMT) it was necessary and worthwhile. It's not always apparent while you're entering what has already been filled in from uploaded files or from last year's return, or which lines a question relates to, and I do think TT would be easier to use if the actual form and line being populated were shown alongside the entry questions. But all in all, once you get used to it, TT is a huge time saver and stress reducer by ensuring that calculations will be correct and consistent. And that the dark dungeon of AMT will be taken care of.
What's great about it: Thorough, accurate

Frustrated that can not include both Box 1 (ordinary business income (loss)) and Box 2 (net rental real estate income (loss)) amounts on the same K-1. Took a long time to figure out that a 2nd K-1 for the same entity is needed to accomplish this report.
What's not so great: K-1 can't include all info on one form

I really like and trust this product and will continue to use it for years to come. I really wish the support for US citizens living and working abroad were better.
What's great about it: Takes just a few hours and not days like before!
What's not so great: Weak on International filers who live & work overseas
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I'm really happy with the preparation this year. We moved from New York to Florida and Turbo Tax asked all of the questions about the move. I wish the refund for moving was bigger but, that's taxes. Turbo Tax appears to be very thorough once again.
What's great about it: The prompting was nice.
What's not so great: Wish it was easier to transfer W2 info into the system. Didn't populate much info if any from last year's filing

Turbo Tax Deluxe Worked for Me (Again!)

Online Support forums are really good - I have had my 2 questions answered by someone within hours of writing and asking them. I honestly believe that Intuit has a good product. I prefer to use the CD and put it on my pc rather than online.
