Turbo Tax fill is a form filling system that provides a calculating capability, but it could be so much more if they allowed what if scenarios and provided a means of pre tax planning during the year to record expenses, donations, stock sales, etc. versus waiting until the end of the year to pull it all together.
Turbo Tax does not easily allow you to split income to evaluate should married couples file joint or separate returns; you have to do it manually. Too rigid and does not offer much more than the IRS on line system; so much potential for money management.
Also you do not like to receive comments as you make it very difficult to provide due to "nick name selection"
What's great about it: Makes the file easy to read by being able to do it on a PC versus hand written
What's not so great: It does not allow for what if's for future money management

Wish I could e-file more returns!

I suspect that I am not the only one who uses one copy of TTAX to file more than 5 returns for my immediate family members. Sure would be nice to be able to file all of my kids returns electronically, even if there was an additional charge.
What's great about it: Excellent as always
What's not so great: efiling limited to 5 returns

Overall, a really good program: one I've used for many years and plan to continue.
What's great about it: easy import from last year; easy to understand; electronic filing great.

My Great Experience with Turbo Tax

The Turbo Tax program is a must in filing one's taxes. the review at the end to address and rectify errors within the forms allows for smooth submission and quick refunds, where one is expected. It would be appreciated of the program charges could be less, especially for those who have been buying it for more than five years.
What's great about it: I liked the ease by which a return can be filed. The step by step assistance offered is above the rest.
What's not so great: The fact that one has to pay for the program every year is a bit dissappointing. Not that there should be no charge

My overall rating of TurboTax is OUTSTANDING! THIS program opened my eyes to the Tax filing system. I have learned more this year about taxes than I have ever known. I know what I can file and what I cannot file thanks to TurboTax and if I forget it tell you where you can get the information. TurboTax is a winner in my book and I am so thankful to my co-worker for telling me to give it a Try.

a lifes little pleasure

I use turbo tax since about 1999 and have loved the ease of use and that you can download things if you are able from the net. I also liked that you can use the previous year as a baseline to what you are doing. Some of the questions like the SSA1099 questions I needed to just look back on the previous year to see what they needed or where to put something. All in all I got my years taxes done in under an hour and had them back from the IRS in a weeks time. I love being able to do electronic filing. If it stings to do your taxes this program makes it one of lifes little pleasures.
