i have been using turbotax for about 10 years.
this year was the most difficult.
i hesitate to recommend this tax service to a friend

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Why? The process is so easy and free from stress. There are links to detailed information regarding each section. Prompts will encourage you to revisit certain area. Best of all, a guarantee of a maximum refund!
What's great about it: Very easy to navigate, detailed areas, applicable prompts

Long, but worth it.

Turbo Tax walks you trhough everything, then it reviews everything and catches any errors and offers alternatives.Great job. I have been using Turbo Tax for a couple of years, it is safe and the best way to do your taxes, and e-filing is a snap.

What's great about it: The right information populates and TT checks everything and walks you through the entire process.
What's not so great: Doing taxes is always stressful.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: Easy to use

now I'm late and may be fined-- some of my fault but turbo said it had been transmitted when it had NOT

Great - liked the ability to upload mutual funds information from Fidelity vice entering it manually.

We have a complex return. Retired so no W-2 input at all. All income is from a variety of sources. 1099s of all flavors, K-1s with even more flavors and rental property to boot.
at one time I had CPAs prepare this return but I kept finding so many errors that I thought I would give it a go with TurboTax. after all, I couldn't make any more errors (I thought) and I kept finding theirs so I had something on the ball.
except for some bonehead mistakes on my part, TurboTax has prepared our returns (federal, state 1 and state 2) without much trouble.
So far, So good.
What's great about it: handles my complex return with plenty of K-1s and 1099s
What's not so great: some K-1s would baffle a CPA much less me and TurboTax
Pros: I bought or sold investments
