Quick and easy, mostly accurate. Sometimes difficult to navigate, and "for more help just pay more money" I don't really like that factor. But helps me do taxes each year. An error made from 2010, was a ludicrous number entry,, my error, but turbo tax allowed it for some reason. I was careful before and am still very careful with data entry. I will buy Turbo Tax again, and again.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy, many options
What's not so great: a little scary, easy to make a mistake as I did in past, got audited, and now owe $3000!

I recommend T'Tax to friends/family, but with cautions.
What's great about it: Clear, simple instructions
What's not so great: glitches, as previously experienced. e.g. double counting taxes

Error NY Tax form line 75

I received an audit correction from NY Tax Dept for including last year NY refund on line 75 of NY Tax Form.
Error occurred when Turbo Tax requested listing of state tax refund under income on Federal Tax form. The amount showed up on line 75 of NY Tax form as an estimated over payment. NY Tax deducted last year tax refund from my refund and rightfully so. However, it appears you have a program default /
Please correct your program and respond to my situation .

2013 Was Awful

I have used TurboTax for years and while there have been problems in the past this year 2013 was unbelievable. Trying to input info for automobile trade ins for businesses was a nightmare.
What's great about it: Transfer of past year info
What's not so great: Kept creating new forms when I wanted to just edit the info

I'm not familiar with much of the terminology of the questions and did not have the patience to look every single detail up to find out if it applied to me. If I didn't know what it was, I assumed I didn't have anything to do with it for taxes.
What's great about it: Very detailed
What's not so great: Don't understand

Overall good on federal, not CA state

Turbotax always does a good job on Federal, not so on CA state. I still have to go back and figure how to print and mail my State return with payment of owed taxes.
Also I chose the option to pay the Federal tax through my checking account, but I don't know if it was done or not. The screen just disappeared with no conformation and no eMail.
What's great about it: Good job reminding me of everything that needed entering
What's not so great: 1. No conformation that tax payment was made by checking account. State form not printed.

The support service walked me through parts of my filing that I never knew existed. I found out that my original filing never went through, there wasn't any evidence that I sent anything and the staff walked me through my files to make sure everything was complete before filing for both state and government.
