disappointed in 2013

VERY disappointed in Turbotax thsi year. My filing was rejected twice, saying that my 1040 line 12 did not match my C-Ez line 3 totals. BUT THEY CLEARLY MATCHED. I had to file 2 schedule c-ezs this year: one for me and one for my wife. Both schedules' total of line 3 equaled what we entered on 1040 line 12. To cap it off, it seemed that turbo tax did not even recognize I completed the c-ezs. It did not print them and did not show them as required to file. VERY disappointed. Now I have to file by mail.
What's not so great: schedule c-ez

I have used since 80's and have never been disappointed or gotten into any audit problems from using TurboTax...Think it is best of the automated tax programs per review of some of my peers that have used other products...My program of choice for many years...
What's great about it: TurboTax is quite easy to use, either forms or conversational mode
What's not so great: As pgm gets more complicated, it gets slower to load...

If you forget to include any deduction or income you filed the previous year, Turbo Tax will remind you.

Overall, a good experience. This return was for my son who is a college student. However as U.S. citizens living in Canada doing taxes is more complicated than doing taxes for the country where you live.
What's great about it: Good for simple returns
What's not so great: Not so easy if you have to cross international boundaries.

some issues

Not so happy.
What's great about it: fast, easy, efficient
What's not so great: I thought the State filing was included. Why did I have to pay extra when filing? And why was my 2012 AGI wrong?

2013 - Worst year for TT ever!
on April 21, 2014
Posted by: tc727
Here I am on April 21st and TT still doesn't handle the transfer of my Federal information to my State return correctly. I spent a lot of time having to massage the data and finally had to fill in some blank 1099's with data that doesn't exist. This will be my last year with TT because of this issue. I had always been a big fan and a big proponent. They dropped the ball. If you want to see the issue, search for Mississippi 1099 on the TT help site and you will read how screwed up the program is.
What's great about it: Was able to import last year and get a running start
What's not so great: TT never updated state product and it still isn't correct

Good Turbo Tax again this year
on April 21, 2014

It worked well as far as I know.
It's disappointing that again this year the Fed returns data does not flow to the State software. It requires me to go back into the specific Fed forms (example Rental Property data) write down the data that is being asked for in the State software, then go pick up where I left off in the State return to fill in the data.
Also, it was not as easy to go find specific "actual" forms to see what Turbo Tax fills in.
What's great about it: Imported data from last year's Turbo Tax and Quicken
What's not so great: Fed data does not flow to State software
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good again this year

Good again this year.
It's frustrating that all the Fed data does not flow to State software. This meant that I had to go find the forms/data that I filled out in the Fed, write down what the Sate is asking, then go find where I was in the State return so I could fill in what the State wanted.
Also, it was hard to look at specific "actual" Federal forms to see what Turbo Tax filled in. I hope it was correct...
What's great about it: Loved how Turbo Tax takes data from last year's Turbo Tax and Quicken
What's not so great: Not all Fed data flows to State software
Pros: I bought or sold investments
