Turbo Tax 2013 was easy to use from start to eFile finish. I found the most beneficial change to be in the investment transaction area. I always enter the transaction information manually and I was able to do it in a fraction of the time I had spent in previous years.
What's great about it: Easier than 2012

Not having to fill out a single form was very nice. I'm a huge procrastinator who dreaded starting her taxes. Being walked through the whole process really made it less stressful to just start...
What's great about it: Not having to fill out any forms.
What's not so great: There was a problem found in the error check and I couldn't figure out where it came from.

I have used Turbox tax for atleast15 year or more, there's a reason, I have always had great success in using the program, This is the first year that I have ever had an issue, I am very disappointed that the program would not update, I would download and install the updates but kept getting a error message.
What's great about it: Just like before, easy to use.
What's not so great: Using for Mac would not update, very frustrating

1. When in the middle of processing and I save the file, it should reopen at the point I saved the file. It is ridiculous to have to step through 2 or 3 pages to get to the point I was working on. 2.Charitable donations should be alphabetized. I do this as I gather the information to be put in my tax forms. Otherwise, it is search through the entire list to find the next entry - and that includes the ones I did not donate to this year. 3. The real problem was in the processing of last years' overpayment. I indicated that I wanted it to go towards 2014 Estimated Tax. However, TurboTax ended up with $1607.00 on line 73, and $1682.00 on line 75. And the return was rejected. I do not know where TurboTax got the $1682.00, unless it was from a previous calculation that was changed when I changed a number in some other part of the form.
What's not so great: See below.

I have used Turbo Tax for well over a decade. It makes it much easier to do my taxes by myself. It has all the forms I need, and is especially useful for California State income tax, which is pretty difficult to fill out on one's own. The program has many ways to view one's progress, and also many links to various tax information.
What's great about it: The Turbo Tax State income tax program is so easy compared with doing it by hand -- thank you!
What's not so great: I had to adjust some information on a couple of worksheets to get the info in the right place.

First time error

I have used turbo tax for years and years, without an error until this year.
Because Turbo Tax has never let me down in the past, I was not careful, and assumed everything was correct.
My e-file was rejected because my daughter was automatically populated as a dependent, and she has not been a dependent for 15 years.
I missed this error, and went from getting a refund of $300 to having to pay $300 with possible penalties and interest.
What's great about it: Get's easier every year!
What's not so great: Error - automatically populated my daughter as a dependent. This daughter files her own return.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

When I go back to enter data I missed during the "Guide Me" process, I would like a link to take me back to where I was. If this exists, I never found it.
What's great about it: Simple
What's not so great: back to Where I Was
Pros: I moved
