Folks turbo ta has been great for me.and easy to use .saves me a lot of time getting forms;submitting tax forms, and ready reference for any questions I might have. Every year it gets better. Thanks

Too easy or not thorough enough?

The 2013 edition of Turbo Tax seemed just a little bit too easy and that made me a little uncomfortable.
For instance, our son turned 24 in 2013 and made $3,900 on his own. Turbo Tax alerted us that we can no longer claim him as a "dependent" but we could return to this topic later. That never happened in the review process.
Our son lives with us after graduating from college and looking for a job in his chosen field. Turbo Tax should have returned to this topic to explore what should be considered in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to use

Glitches Detracted From Otherwise Good Tax Softwar

After years of using and admiring TurboTax software, I was surprised to find errors occurring in the DVD and downloaded versions of TurboTax Deluxe for 2013. Several simple math computations were wrong. Some entries from the step by step method were placed on the wrong lines of the tax form. Attempts to correct the errors using the forms method were frustrating, but I was eventually able to correct all the errors before printing the final returns. All of this happened after I was unable to even start the program because it turned out I didn't have the latest version of Microsoft's .NET Framework. A patient and skillful phone representative from Intuit TurboTax was able to help me with that problem, and I am grateful for her support. No where is it mentioned by TurboTax, however, that you need this Microsoft update. I still value the TurboTax software. I just hope that next year's version doesn't have glitches.
What's great about it: For the most part simplifies tax preparation
What's not so great: Strange errors occurred
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Great as always

I've been using this software for over 20 years. I've done better than a CPA could have done. Especially using the IRS Pubs features have found all I needed for an interesting career.

What's not so great: I have never had a problem, no cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
