All of the returns were rejected by the IRS and states of New Jersey due to the ESN being incorrect. One of the W2s had a EIN that did not match the EIN that I input.
Finally, after paying full price for this software, I had to pay additional fees for the New jersey , and then on top of that, had to pay an additional fee to file the NJ return electronically.
Now it just bounced again because the payment date and due date didn't match. What a piece of garbage.
Even submitting this rating was a chore.
Sine I have little confidence in this product, I will take it to an accountant to review.

It was pretty easy to use just like last year
The section on High Deductivle Health Insurance could stand some improvement as I felt like I wasn't getting much information. (probably needed to take more time on that section)
My overall experience was very good!
I"ll use Turbotax again next year.
What's great about it: Easy to download previous tax return + applicable tax docs (W2, 1099-INT, etc)
What's not so great: If you've used Turbotax before then there seems to be no Cons worth mentioning

This is the second year I have had a problem with turbotax. Last year it took 2-3 attempts before finally going through. This year I tried sending it electronically, and all it did was keep telling me I need an update for turbotax. After the third time of hitting "update" and watching it supposedly download all the "updates," it said the exact same thing... Very annoying. Everything was fine up until then. I am now sending it via mail.
What's great about it: easy up until the end
What's not so great: what update is left?

Great program! We have been using it for years and will continue to use if as long as you continue the quality and ease of use you have provided thus far :-)
What's great about it: Simple, guaranteed accurate, able to import previous year taxes
What's not so great: Additional cost for state filing

Refiled Return NOT ACCEPTED. FPYMT-071-1 Error msg

NOT via TurboTax but rather from a google search I found the fix:
"If you electronically filed your return on or before April 15th and it was rejected for some reason, and you try to correct and refile on the 16th or later, the TurboTax software resets the due date for any electronic payment to April 16th or later. This seems to trigger the reject code FPYMT-072-01. To set the due date for electronic payment to April 15th, change the calendar date for your computer to the 15th, change the due date for electronic payment to the 15th, and electronically resubmit the return."
What's great about it: Easily Allowed me to fix a minor error after initial rejection
What's not so great: VERY hard to get corrected return accepted

Past years were much easier.

I had a form Schedule c, I think, that I erased several times but it kept coming back in the review. ?? Extension steps not clear, this process's confusion was not due to IRS late changes but is all on Turbo Tax. In past years I was able to flow through with only a few small bumps. This year it was a confusing. Things would flow and then strange things happen and no explanation. Like if the form could not be erased, this should have been stated and an explanation as to why or how to proceed should have been presented. I still don't know if my extension was filed? I guess I will find out if/when I pay the penalties etc. Next year I will use a preparer.
What's great about it: better than filing by hand (sort of)
What's not so great: Not a smooth flow. Many places where things happen and no explination

Outside Business Reporting

This product seems to get better every year and I am glad that the system directs me to the appropriate IRS forms so I can dig in and understand things before concluding them in this effort. i was a bit annoyed by the stealthiness that was displayed in the electronic filing by obscuring the cost of filing the state return. I understand that this probably generates additional revenue but it still annoyed me as I had to back up and re-read and then adjust. The 2.5% added onto the cost of paying the IRS should be explained as the cost of using a credit card for payment but I understood this intrinsically (even though the actual cost is likely less). Overall a great and improving product. In the coming years you should use this product to add knowledge to us loyal users as we work through this process each year.
What's great about it: I was refered to IRS forms and docs that helped me understand the issues that were being addressed. VERY GOOD!
What's not so great: I got siphoned through the Farm Business sequencing for some reason that I can't fathom. This was a bit annoying.
