IRS to apply late filing fee

I've used Turbo Tax for years and this was the first year I thought I would e-file my federal returns. After completing the return and typing in all the info needed from my bank account, the return apparently never made it to the final destination. Now, I will have to pay a penalty for filing late. I didn't know that it wasn't transmitted except by looking at my banking information and not seeing the transmission of funds on the 15th. I will not be using this feature in the future!

I have been using Turbo for the last 15 years and I have never had trouble in e- filing until this year. The instructions have been changed making it harder to understand and harder to file. It has caused me to misfile taking 3000 of refund off me transfer to the IRS. If this is not corrected I will never use this program again.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: change in e filing instructions.

Double W-2 not caught

Overall I like the product. I would expect the review process to catch two W-2's from the same employer, for the same amount. I spent some time chasing that down, and it caused us some stress.
What's great about it: easy to use, brought back last years data easily
What's not so great: Auto entry of W-2 somehow left a double entry. I did not catch this, and the review did not either. That error was stess
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent tool to file taxes

TurboTax is Tops !!

TurboTax does it all. I really feel as if a tax accountant is doing my taxes for me. An incredible time-saver. Despite needing to complete 3 complex tax returns in 3 days, TurboTax allowed me to finish in 2 days. Awesome !!
What's great about it: Ease of Use, Lots of FYI's, E-File for Free
What's not so great: None

Rejected Return Woes

I filed on behalf of my mother who passed away last year.
After filing electronically, the return was rejected.
TurboTax said to call number or submit AGI from prior year, did that and filed again.
Rejected again.
Called number, gave all info to system, the transferred me to agent (after 20 mins), and they informed me I had to file via mail, with 1310 form which I already sent.
Seems TurboTax should know this procedure, would have saved a lot of time.
What's great about it: Overall, very easy to use and detailed, except ...
