Will never use again!

16 year user who will never use again. Had a problem with a worksheet that the program did not find after completing federal and 2 states reviews until it was time to file electronically. Could not correct problem, could not file because of it. Bought the Federal and 1 other state for nothing and now I have to go to an accountant to file taxes! I saw that many people reported the same issue and the one answer did not work. Realized with the cost of the program and additional state and the filing fee's that it would be better to go to an accountant in the future and get filed on time and save a lot of stress. I'm very disappointed and will never recommend or use software again.
What's great about it: None this year
What's not so great: Unanswered worksheet problem that many people had unanswered
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Software

TurboTax goes through everything and helps you get a great refund. They also have a great place to ask questions and get answers. I found answers to almost all my questions. When it came down to a crucial question that I couldn't find the answer to, I was able to call, get right through, and talk with a professional who walked me through what I needed step by step. He then patiently answered a question that I had, but hadn't been able to find the answer. TurboTax has Great support.
What's great about it: Help when I needed it.
What's not so great: It shut down and hours of work hadn't been saved.

I like Turbo Tax. I have been using it for at least 8 years. But I was getting a little frustrated with it toward the end. When I finished and it reviewed my federal form, it found 6 items that needed correcting. As I looked through the errors, TT showed me the form and field. Well in many of the cases, I had no idea what the field should have been. iT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF TT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME BACK TO THE TT PROMPTS THAT GENERATED THE REPORT AND ASKED ME TO CORRECT WHATEVER TT ASKED ME FOR AN MADE THE CORRECTIONS FOR ME. As we went through TT, I was not shown a form until I had to correct the form. Well TT filled in the form, Did TT make a mistake. If it was not an appropriate value, why did TT not catch it when it was prompting me.
Once the tak foms were completed, it took over 30 minutes before the taxes were filed and everyone was paid. I admit some of that may have been my slow compute, but there was one question after another.
TT FILLED IN THE BANK INFORMATION FOR THE FEDERAL, BUT IT WAS NOT FILLED IN FOR THE STATE RETURN.
These little things were frustrating as I was needing to finish and go to a meeting.

Saved My Sanity!!!!

It is a logical, menu-driven, confidence-boosting program that makes tax preparation super expeditious and foolproof. As long as I've been using the program (go back to the 90's) I've never had an error, ommission, or audit. I hate to seem snobby and overconfident, yet I just don't know a better way to describe it!
What's great about it: It's as easy as making a PB & J sandwich (crusts removed too!)
What's not so great: There literally aren't any.

I wish there was a tab that under each section you could instant message a turbo tax consultant to ask questions and get advice or explanations.
What's great about it: You started simplified more topics
What's not so great: dont like the itemization of donation items.

I recommend everyone do their own taxes. It allows you to better understand the tax implications of your financial decisions. Turbotax makes it as easy as I could possibly imagine. I have been using them now for over ten years, and will continue to do so as long as they are in business or income taxes are eliminated. I retired from the Army after 37 years, so had a lot of changes in my life this year. Turbotax allowed me to decide how to make some adjustments for next year.
What's great about it: Quick, comprehensive, easy to understand
What's not so great: It is never fun paying your taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been using Turbo Tax for years now and while I find it very easy normally I seemed to have some situations this year. I had problems at the beginning with dragging to an application.
I also had problems at the end where it kept telling me there were updates and I couldn't file until they were downloaded, I downloaded three times before my taxes actually transmitted.
Just seemed a little more cumbersome this year.
Maybe just me and my anxiety!!!!
