Overall a great way to file taxes. Definitely cheaper than having it prepared anywhere else.
What's great about it: The smooth, easy to follow questions.
What's not so great: Had trouble with finding where to enter a donated car.

Added fees

The added fees, at the end, are ridiculous. It doesn't matter whether you get a refund or pay additional taxes, you will have to pay heavy fees at the conclusion of your filing...
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Added fees

Almost easy to use But still worth it.

little better than last year. with the deductions there should be an area where it shows why the standard deduction was used compared to Itemized deduction.
What's great about it: Takes you step by step with each form.
What's not so great: Doesn't remember check boxes of questions when you go back to review an area.

This is the first year I found errors or poor instructions that would have cost me hundreds of dollars if I did not notice them just before filing. One included a glitch in the home office deductions in the Deluxe version, and it added a penalty that I did not need to pay.
Otherwise, I've used TurboTax every year since the late 80's, and it's been fine.
A suggestion - please make it easier to find previous years taxes on the home computer from the new version of Deluxe - maybe add a pop-up window so you can save it more deliberately in a "findable" location. This year I had to start over because once I found the file (tucked in a weird file) it would not open or couldn't read it. Again, that's the first time this has happened.
What's great about it: The "walk you through" features are all great, if imperfect.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Reliable and Familiar; More Help Keyword Searches?
on April 15, 2014

Very good, familiar, and trustworthy. Have used exclusively TurboTax since 1992, including self-paid job move, company-paid relocation, multiple home purchases and sales over those years, with and without employer assistance, etc. Was just a bit disappointed that a Help Search for two or three word phrases - some even taken from the TT Deluxe 2013 screens - didn't always find any hits as I'd expected (i.e., college dependent, or lived with you). Perfection is a Lofty Goal!!!
What's great about it: Very Familiar to me for > 20 yrs. Trusted and Reliable.
What's not so great: Hoping for smarter 'A & B' Help Search in my Deluxe 2013.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Have used Turbo Tax for about 7 years and love it. Except that I now have to pay for state e-filing even the first retun prepared (I use Tuurbo Tax to prepare 3 returns). I have always purchased the combo federa/state retuns pkg. Wish you would include at least 1 free state filing. Turbo Tax is easy to use and I recommend it to everyone.
What's great about it: Line by line assist!
What's not so great: Having to pay to e-file state retun

FRUSTRATING PROCESS!
on April 15, 2014

A normal 1-2 day process took almost an entire week to complete! I attempted filing with Online Version - WHAT A JOKE! Online Version was frustrating, continuously locked me out, requiring re-login every 10 minutes. Often encountered difficulties trying to review earlier-entered data. Tried to save/download copy to my computer, per online instructions, would not work. Ended up purchasing Downloadable Version, had to re-enter all of 1040, but was able to 'import' state data. Due to continued issues, I was late submitting my forms - I wonder if Turbo-Tax Online will pay penalty fees? Also unable to pay state taxes online, so that will cost more penalty fees. GRRR! Will know better next year!
What's great about it: Downloaded Version Works BEST
What's not so great: DON'T EVEN TRY Online Version!
