Great Product - Too Pricey

TurboTax is beginning to price itself out of the market.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Too many "Nickel and Dime" fees
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

You know at some point which State will be filled. Could you file paymonts as one step?
What's great about it: Let a filer pay Sate and federal in one step.
What's not so great: Understand that you know which State.

Billion Dollar Loss Ads

Although I do get a slight sense of "how do I know this is really thorough enough", everything is covered and I can put in the research if necessary.
Those TV ads that say there was "a billion dollars left on the table last year" really aren't that clear. I see no need to subscribe to that train of thot. Do it yourself, and just be smart.
What's great about it: Easy & quick
What's not so great: not really any

More testing please

I just got a new Windows laptop with Windows 8 installed.
I got errors trying to install TurboTax. The diagnostics your s/w gave me were way off. It said there was a problem w/ .NET framework s/w. Big struggle to get your s/w to install. Eventually solved by upgrading to Windows 8.1. Your s/w should have been tested on the latest version of Windows OS

What's great about it: Sixth year using TurboTax. UI is great
What's not so great: Support for Windows 8.0 was terrible

Turbo Tax Sofware

I have used the Turbo tax software for many years and have never had an issue. While I think the cost is high it is cheaper than having someone else do them for me.
What's great about it: Covers every possible situation
What's not so great: The cost

I've been using TurboTax for at least 15 years. Some years my tax situation was more complicated than other but TurboTax always made it easier. There was always online help and even better, user friendly videos to hold your hand.
I actually used to write Tax Software for a then major Accounting firm. They would give me their/our software for free. I still bought TurboTax, even then.
What's great about it: I love TurboTax. I've been using it for 15 years
What's not so great: None really.

TurboTax does all of the calculations and has all of the current tax rules. There are several ways to get help if you need it.
What's great about it: Instructions are easy to understand. All of the calculations are done for me.
