Generally very good

Loved the comparison to last year.
Deduction interface needs serious help, specifically for donations of items Very clunky, hard to dig through 4 layers of menus to get to the thing I donated.
It's hard to skip sections. if I want to move on to the next part of Income, I have to scroll down. I do this a lot, since a lot of sections don't apply to me. Let me skip with an Enter or a click higher in the screen.
What's great about it: Comparison to last year
What's not so great: Deduction Interface. Hard to skip.

Always use Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for 12 years now. It is comprehensive, but it also gives me a chance to actually see my finances year by year , and to realign my goals accordingly. That is the advantage of doing it yourself.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, walks you through the steps
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Searched for good 1099-S info not found

If you inherit a house and have multiple heirs, what to key in the right fields were conflicting, ie: enter date of death or "inherited" in the date field. I found info to do both. IRS data wasn't clear either.
What's great about it: Reliable, thorough, OK on general help info
What's not so great: If you need details, even the blogs fell short on 1099-S
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

As Good As It Ever Was And That Is GREAT!

In earlier years, I tried importing data directly from Quicken. The first year or two, this worked real well but on say the third year, it resulted in a TRAIN WRECK. Thereafter, I manually take data (actually cut n' paste) from Quicken and enter it in TurboTax. Not a high speed operation but then I don't get thrown off the tracks either. Just keep making the product as good as you always have and life (at least during tax season) will be GOOD.
What's great about it: Gets the complete job done with good flexibility and little fuss.
What's not so great: Advantage Member and many year repeat costumers should get a better price break.

No gold ring

Tax rules are far too complicated to do returns on your own. TurboTax is a good guide, and the review of your data is a blessing. It is a well thought out and functional piece of software. To extremely frustrating aspects need upgraded. The "continue where you left off" must return to the actual screen, not to the beginning of a SECTION. It blew my mind to find the software refusing to "verify" the tax form one click short of transmitting the taxes. Happened twice. Looked up feedback and saw it was a common problem with Macs. A Reboot of my mac, and a reboot of the program finally let me transmit. Please address these two issues.
What's great about it: I have used Turbotax for many years. It is a must have app for my taxes because of the walk through, explainations, etc
What's not so great: Non-functional "resume where you left off" buttons. Hate! redoing entire section- pop directly to last screen
