Easy and Speedy tax filing experience

I would recommend this app for all who desire to complete their own taxes.

Straight forward and Comprehensive

I don't like filing taxes but since we have to, TurboTax takes a great deal of the pain out. I always feel like I've forgotten some deduction or some obscure income source but with this program I have a confidence level that only comes from the detailed level of the questions asked during the information entry. I generally procrastinate on filing my taxes and I would be dead without the easy-to-use e-filing capability. I buy the program in plenty of time but never seem to get around to using it until the last few hours. This year it only took me about two hours to file and now I can go fishing for another whole year!!
What's great about it: Covers a hard subject with an understandable interview process.
What's not so great: Having to pay EXTRA for state e-filing! Leaves a sour taste.

I found this year's questions confusing and difficult to follow. Prior years much easier.
You need more Beta testing.

Did the job well

It is a big time saver to have the choice of step-by-step or choose my own path. I follow the steps in the first pass through and choose my own path when adding missing information or reviewing the document. Electronic filing was simple and quick.
What's great about it: Easily handled education deduction and capital loss carryover
What's not so great: Every time I start up, I get asked about the form that I ignore

This really is easy to follow--and I am not tax savvy! Rather than pay someone else to do my taxes, I figured it would be cheaper to do it myself. Even though the cost is a little high for my taste, the refunds seem to be higher using Turbo Tax verses paying an individual to prepare them for me. You just answer questions, there are explanations available, step-by-step instructions on entering information & amounts, and it will even supply values to items/clothing donated to charity--my favorite part! Well, other than the refund!
What's great about it: Format is easy to follow, explanations available
What's not so great: Costs- purchase software, buy additional state for almost the same price, e-file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What a Relief!

Our original computer was not taking the information and we would only get so far in the process. April 14th, we had to cut our losses and start over. This software was excellent and really helpful. My confidence is so much higher and I am ready to tackle next year's returns!
What's great about it: Really easy to understand. I especially liked the notes stating when a certain answer is unusual.
What's not so great: None really. Just maybe the updates from the IRS were a little annoying

Not user friendly enough.

Have used Turbo Tax for years. This year became so cumbersome that I will not use again unless changes are made. My family and friends were all disgusted and said the same. We have a dozen different examples but this is one. Charitable miles input could not be completed. multiple recurring trips to different locations. Input not allowed. No real answers online. Could not call anyone as advertised.
What's great about it: Calculations are correct. Great advertising, commercials.
What's not so great: Software problems information input in wrong places, Worksheets not user friendly.

Almost 100% Stress Free

This is my 5th year using Turbo tax and each year it gets easier quicker and more efficient - if this 70+ grandma has no problem doing her own taxes with Turbo tax - then there's no excuse for everyone not to use Turbo Tax ......
What's great about it: Clear - efficient - organized
