Overall good, seemed to ask the right questions, surprised at my state return, largest I've ever received
What's great about it: addressed area's appropriately
What's not so great: some questions needed clarification to answer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

a lot of pages from forms like 8582, Sch E, K1, various worksheets were included from last years return and were difficult to find and remove.
What's great about it: Pretty much like last year
What's not so great: it left some pages from last year that were unneeded

bugs and frustration entering trades

When updating stock trade amounts after transposing a couple digits, the totals never recalculated and I was unable to save the return - got an error 543 or 523 or something. I had to exit, delete all my transactions and re-enter without typo errors to get the totals correct and still be able to save my work. I figure I spent at least an extra hour entering and re-entering data.

Great Program with Minor Problems

I have used TurboTax for many years. I am a fan of the product and have recommended it to friends and colleagues. This year, however, I had persistent problems with automatic updates and received messages at various times indicating that the updates failed. When it came time to E-file, I was finally able to get the updates without an error. However, I was not able to transmit my returns without first shutting down and re-starting the program (Mac version).
What's great about it: Makes doing taxes very easy
What's not so great: Some minor problems this year with E-filing

It does the job but there are fees...

I like that turboTax keeps my information from year to year and that there are so many questions and explanations of why the questions are being asked. It's not over the top with the help but does the job. Sometimes it is a bit confusing trying to get to the forms view when you know where you are trying to make a change or add information since it is sometimes a little difficult to find where to enter the information in the step by step view some times. Also, I feel it is so frustrating that they want to charge so much money for state return filing and refund processing.
What's great about it: It does have all the forms and lots of information if you have questions
What's not so great: There are so many fees!!
