Was able to prepare city tax, too

I live in a city that imposes city income taxes.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could file the city taxes, too. While the city tax portion is not as polished as the rest of Turbo Tax, it is sufficiently sophisticated to get the job done in a timely manner.
What's great about it: Carry information from federal to state and to city
What's not so great: none

I enjoyed being able to try out several methods of filing our taxes and having the ability to open it back up later and make an amendment, if needed.
What's great about it: Fast, Detailed information, Ability to skip walk-throughs, create multiple scenarios for different methods of filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

This program made the incredibly daunting task of doing taxes all by myself super quick and easy. It also did a great job of reassuring me through the entire process. I felt confident hitting the final "submit" button. Now all I have to think about is what to buy with my return :)
Thanks Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Friendly and easy to navigate

I've been using Turbo Tax for a couple of years now, and I must admit, I'm getting lazy. :) I used to do my own taxes, and those of others. Now, I complete mine through Turbo Tax alone. I think I'm a customer for life!
What's great about it: The program is arranged in such an orderly way.
What's not so great: I would be helpful if assistance was available through chat regularly.

Spousal Support Error Message Lacking!!
on April 15, 2014

Severely Lacking in the Spousal Support messaging.
The entire time, for days, we thought we were missing $3700. There's a big difference between owing $3200 and a refund of $500.
We entered spousal support of 13,200. We were LED to believe it was figured into the return properly. Spousal support is deductible, and claimed as income for the one receiving it. It was entered, but the SSN of the recipient's SSN wasn't entered yet.
My belief is that the REFUND should be calculated using the deduction. It was not. We were led to believe we had $3700 greater tax obligation.
I had difficulty locating my Ex wife's SSN. Only then did the return calculate the refund properly!
There was an error message during "error checking". Many times, returns are sent in with a "small error". I almost sent it in as is without her SSN.
It should have reported some kind of error like: "The refund isn't properly calculated until the recipient of the support's SSN is entered"
Software error? Perhaps not, but this omission almost cost $3700. Tax software still isn't as good as a person doing it.
I'd like to try the competing product next year to see how it is handled from an error message standpoint.
What's great about it: We got it done
What's not so great: Nearly Cost us $3700 !!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
