Turbo tax is incredibly easy to use and effectively guides you through each section to ensure you get the best refund. Thank you for making it look so easy!

Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbo tax for the last several years. I really like how it gathers the information and walks me through the process. If I was even more organized, it would be even easier!
What's great about it: Clear, straight forward way it walked me through every detail.
What's not so great: Can't think of anything

Everything about this software is fine except for two things:
1) It's difficult to go into specific parts of your rental property data to review, add and edit. You have to go through the entire interview process from the beginning, instead of being able to go directly to the part (like income, expenses, depreciation) you'd like to work on. It's been like this for years and still no fix.
2) It's very laborious to test the different tax impacts of contributing to an IRA or Roth IRA or some combination of the two. Seems like something they could handle better and offer recommendations.
What's great about it: Makes preparing return pretty easy
What's not so great: Difficult to access specific parts of rental property data

Turbo Tax was seamless between the federal and state forms for two filers in this household. I liked the thoroughness and comfort from the continuous checking to make sure things were complete and accurate. Nothing faltered during the several times I got into the program.
I realized I had a major problem with collecting social security and earning "too much" money. Before I started the tax program in earnest I feared how to calculate the costs correctly; which was taken care of by Turbo Tax. Thanks!
I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years with one deviation to a brand that was about $10 cheaper. That was a mistake that wasn't worth the additional cost.
What's great about it: comprehensive, ability pickup where left off. Ease to go between views.
What's not so great: Help with federal jargon inconsistancy for continuing education credit
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Gets Easier for Novices

I used the import from prior year and let Turbo Tax walk me through the rest. I could see where I had entries last year, but still looked to see if I had any changes that Turbo Tax would catch. I gave up trying to print the return through Turbo Tax because I could not send it straight to the network printer; I HAD to print from a pdf preview, which kept freezing up. Finally I sent the saved pdf to my husband to print on the shared printer attached to his PC. Too bad we had to do a work around at the end when everything else had gone so well.
What's great about it: Letting Turbo Tax walk you through to avoid mistakes
What's not so great: Harder to find more detailed features I have become used to
