Easier than last year

Unless you have a particularly complicated tax return, you can file without paying an accountant! The truth is all the work is in finding your documentation and the accountant doesn't do that for you. Finally, using Turbo Tax gives you the opportunity to learn about you tax situation-this year I taught my 16 year old!
What's great about it: Import and process W2
What's not so great: Took 3 tries to e-file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good, but somewhat less user friendly that before

Overall, still a good product; took a horrible long time to launch on my CPU and still doesn't feel as user friendly as it used to and could be (i.e. if nothing has changed on a page, let me skip it...i.e. areas of income/expenses I've NEVER needed). ALSO, put the "CONTINUE" buttons to the RIGHT of the item list or move the latest completed topic and button to the top and put the button there so I don't have to scroll to the bottom of EVERY SINGLE PAGE to advance to the next item or topic.
WHAT I CONSIDER CAN BE A COSTLY ERROR, that can be corrected simply; I almost paid double on my business income as TT requests entry of all 1099's early in the process and INCLUDES that in gross receipts even though Quickbooks imported the correct amount. SIMPLE SOLUTIONS and/or a NOTE TO PROGRAMMERS: SIMPLE CHECKBOX would solve this confusion (seems several people ran into it). When filling out the 1099's, simply ASK if it is included in your business gross receipts OR tell the person NOT to enter the 1099 if it is. It took me 15 minutes to find out where the error was coming from and delete the forms! I also noted some of the information wasn't transferred smoothly to my state forms (i.e. when NO medical expense, it insisted I enter ZERO when review came up. I noted some other areas I had to re-type the same info between forms also.
What's great about it: Does major calculations for you
What's not so great: Doesn't alway transfer, doubles 1099s

Procrastinators Refund

I am one of the worst procrastinators going! and Turbo Tax Rocks right thru the Tax Return with no gliches or problems. And, usually on April 15th this time with just 3 hours remaining!! Thanks Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: I have used Turbo Tax for YEARS and have never had a bad eperience!
What's not so great: None

This would be an excellent tool if I received information on why my return looked so different from previous years. This would allow me to focus on how to stabilize and make smart decisions personally based on my family's goals

What's great about it: Very easy to navigate and does a nice job of allowing you to jump around if need be and switch back to guiding you thru
