Made a Needlessly Complex Process Tolerable

Moderately complex joint return -- some rental and other income, some investments -- was reasonable to complete thanks to TurboTax.
What's great about it: Better than even 2012 in asking questions, providing explanations
What's not so great: Nothing significant

It's Done; Finally!

This was a difficult, late submission of a 2012 tax filing.
while I was also doing my 2013 taxes.
while I was also doing my 2013 taxes.
Turbotax took longer than doing it manually. but was much better in leading me thru the mazes succesfully (especially with a few seldom used forms).
Very pleased with the results.
What's great about it: Complete and pretty easy to follow
What's not so great: SW didn't always understand printing 1-sided vs. 2-sided

What's not so great: 1098C form does not offer "Actual sale price" as an option for how the car was valued
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbotax is OK

I did not like turbotax asking me to list purchase prices and dates for all of the items of clothing that I donated to Good Will. REALLY? You want me to dig up all the receipts from the past 20 years?
During the review process, the error correction steps do not give enough info on what sections turbotax is talking about. Could not double click to go to that section. Took me a long time before I noticed the very small "form" button on the bottom that did not look like a button. Then form was displayed in a very small frame on the bottom. I was not able to adjust the frame for the form to see more, I could only scroll.

What's great about it: good price, quick, runs well on MacOS
What's not so great: Review process needs work on user interface

How simple can you get if you got all the documents needed to fill in the blanks

Better than going by hand and brain as one gets older. Glad to have the computer method. Easier to see the mistakes in front of me.
What's great about it: Goes faster.
What's not so great: Hate the going back all the time as I get older and forget from one screen to the other.

for the most part...covers it all...
but, I wish there were more examples...more specific details to the examples...
Also, sometimes I am not sure if imported info is entered in all correct spots...if some may be omitted from another section.
