Donation Quagmire

I found myself stuck in a loop of trying to figure out how to access the new charities I had added, to record the donations. Also didn't find a clear way to put in kind and money in one location for the same charity. Finally the edit and delete keys next to donations were the way to change dollar amounts, who knew? I stumbled on that. I thought it was only used to add or delete a charity. Would have loved a clue somewhere on the page or in frequently asked questions.
What's great about it: Showing last years list of charities helpful.
What's not so great: No clear directions on entering new charities' donations and new amounts for the previous ones.

After completion of my federal returns I downloaded my state forms and the program crashed. I had to unload the application and re-enter my federal data after re-installing the program.
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: The program did crash on me and I had to re-enter my data
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent, but...

Our family has used TurboTax since it came out. It's excellent, except that we continue to have problems with the carryover loss every year and it has never printed out two copies for us even though we've properly completed the forms and checked the right boxes. We love that it's easy to go back to any area when needed and that it's easy to do taxes this way.
What's great about it: User friendly, fairly easy, able to go back any time needed
What's not so great: Continues to have problems with "carryover loss" and never prints out two copies, despite proper procedure being followe

Turbotax 2013

I have been a user for many years and continue to rely on Turbotax. The only thing I have a problem with is that for certain things in the handling of stock sales, where basis or acquisition date are not provided by custodian, it can bew a bit daunting to get to the right choice.
What's great about it: very easy to use and comprehensive
What's not so great: Some old forms were blank and showed up on error list
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

It just keeps getting better

Turbo Tax is very user friendly, especially for someone who does not/cannot keep up with the tax laws. I like the way you can go back and review and revise at any time. Your "It's Deductible" pull down screens are extremely helpful when making donations. Going from business wear to casual wear, I had no idea of the value to put on clothes. As long as I had an itemized list of donations, I found almost every item (along with a value relative to the quality of the item). Now if you could develop a special deduction or credit for procrastinators, you would have the perfect tax preparation product.
What's great about it: Explanations were very clear; appreciate the recommended choices to maximize my return.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax was easy compared to trying to purchase the Tax Audit Defense--very confusing.

I went past my issue and taxes seemed high but feel that they are likely correct and sent my taxes in. I have used this product for years and have been extremely satisfied.
What's great about it: Like all the steps & questions
What's not so great: Did not find guidance how to calculate what my required distribution should have been for a 199-R that I received.
