Just a little bit further

Let's be honest, I'm reviewing an industry standard. There really is no comparison between TurboTax and other Tax filing software.
I mean, when your family accountant tells you that's what he uses... well... That's what you're gonna use.
But here are a few things that could be better:
When printing out forms, have more of an official template. I've had to re-generate data from previous years forms, just to have the submissions rejected due to TurboTax's generic, non-standard formatting.
The help section is pretty messy. It always seems to guide you towards where TT want's you to go, not where you are trying to go.
Assumptions abound in TT's walk-throughs. I'm sure my situation isn't that out there, but even I had some hiccups in form choice and methods.
What's great about it: User Friendly. Quick.
What's not so great: Boilerplate. Limited Help.

TurboTax Made It Easy

Due to prolonged unemployment this year I had to take early withdrawal from my IRA for living expenses. Early withdrawal results in a 10% penalty from the IRS. I didn't realize that I could deduct my COBRA health insurance payments from the total early withdrawal - but Turbo Tax did! That deduction saved me money that I didn't know I could save.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax automatically updated forms for early withdrawal from IRA and saved $$$ I didn't know was possible.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

WHEN ENTERING MY LONG AND SHORT TERM STOCK TRANSACTIONS THE FORM ON THE SCREEN DOES NOT SHOW THE CALCULATION OF WHETHER IT WAS A GAIN OR LOSS NOR LONG OR SHORT. ALSO, IT TOOK AWHILE BEFORE I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED AN UPDATE FOR FORM 8949...AFTER MANY FRUSTRATING HOURS! YOU HAD TO CLICK TO ANOTHER FORM TO SEE THIS INFORMATION. BUT THERE WERE MORE PROBLEMS THEN THAT.
What's not so great: I WILL NEVER USE THIS AGAIN...NOT AT ALL CONVENIENT AND LOTS OF UNCLEAR INSTRUCTIONS.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

While I loath the fact that the tax code in this country is way more complicated than it needs to be what continues to impress me is how turbo tax is able to simplify the complexity while maintaining quick and easy access to applicable details.
What's great about it: very simple questions with easy access to more details

no doubt it good for everyone just do your home work on it. im single so it easy but my friends who have fam use it and do well that know there right and tax home work.... still think getting done dirty tho.
What's great about it: super fast our fam is broke and we buy the soft ware to share it and the cost
What's not so great: i keep getting jawed never a refund not sure why just suck

Overall I felt that your software was user friendly. What really infuriates me is that I ended up paying hidden fees at the end for the California tax return as well as for the interest on my credit card charge. This was very upsetting. I will no longer use Turbo tax because of this. If your literature was more transparent and I had expectations to pay in the end, I wouldn't be so upset. I just feel taken advantage of. Its a terrible feeling.
What's great about it: Was user friendly.
What's not so great: Still very complicated and hidden fees at the end were extremely upsetting to me.
