Great refund - and Easy!

TurboTax is so easy and fast. I got a great refund. Did try to load on a new laptop with Windows 8 and couldn't get it to load. Not sure if it's my laptop or Windows 8.
Definitely will use TurboTax next year.

This year there seemed to be "bugs!

Before I added the complete deductions it showed $610.00 due, after adding about $4000.00 in deductions it showed $610.00 due?

First time Turbo Tax

Bring more attention to that little box to check for income tax withheld. Had to search for it at end of process.
Instruction for mailing state return should say include copy ? W-2, and or 1099-G
What's great about it: Nice flow, easy to use
What's not so great: missed box for income tax withheld; nightmeres in between.

Choose A Different Tax Software

if you use, make sure you change privacy settings
What's great about it: likely gives a good return
What's not so great: too much info mined by the software; some screens requesting unnessesary info are cleverly disguised so you don't bypass

Not as User Friendly as past years

I have Turbo and Mac Intax going back 20 years (including Zip Drives but not including Floppies that may or may not have existed and been tossed. It's always a structured clean neat way to deal with taxes ... but .. and it's mostly the IRS, as taxes have gotten so ridiculously complex, even Intuit is having trouble making it clear... One thing I recall is clicking on a specific spot on form and coming up with a few words of explanation... miss it

What's not so great: more structured with less explanations

Turbo Tax works but could be better

This program does guide you though filling out the annoying laborious Federal Tax code. It will find the deductions that you are entitled to. On the flip side if you need to leave the program and come back it does not show you clearly what you have completed. so you can waste a bit of time re-doing areas that have already been completed.

We've used TurboTax for over 10 years and wouldn't think of doing our taxes without it.
