Easier than expected this year

I have used Turbo Tax for years and like how it works. Sometimes the instructions are not completely clear and if you have a difficult problem, you are on your own. If you don't have anything unusual, then it is easy.
I wish there was a tax advice program in addition to doing your taxes. So you could enter your information and ask about different scenarios.

What's great about it: easy instructions, step by step, extra info easily found
What's not so great: can't print just what is needed easily, some topics not covered
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The product does what it says it will do, but taxes are so complicated that unless you just have simple W-2 income and some interest, you're going to need to understand the documents that go into preparing the return. I have an auditing background, but I'm not a tax preparer and I struggle at times to understand the forms and how it all works. I eventually get there, and I credit TT with that, because the answers are there, but you have to actually learn about taxes to understand what to adjust and what to leave alone. Overall, I am grateful for TT, because it does let me get through the process and I learn more every year.
What's great about it: Taxes are overly complicated - TT walks you through the process and makes it all much easier.
What's not so great: A taxpayer still has to have the knowledge to determine when something isn't correct, so it's not always easy.

We have been filing through Turbo Tax for quite a few years........we are sold.........it is the only way to go

Last minute tax file

Turbo Tax is a great product. I started filing on 4/15/14 @ 1PM and was completed with electronically filing both my Federal & State taxes by 5 PM. The delay was due to my lack of preparation, had to go Downtown to get some property tax information. I did not believe avoiding late tax penalties were possible when filing on the last day of tax season.

What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Took me awhile longer to finish, worked a 12 hour night shift prior to fiing my taxes.

Another Great Year doing taxes

Been using this product since it was Mac-In-Tax in the 80s just so I didn't have to recalculate every page of a 30 page return especially if something was found in error and all the linking forms needed to be recalculated. Prior to electronic Tax Prep any missed deductions would be held in hope I would be audited and would have extra deductions to help rule in my favor.
What's great about it: Quick simple and accurate
What's not so great: Easy of navigation could be more intuitive

Had TurboTax provided me more information, I would have told my oldest son not to file. That was a $1000+ mistake.
