I didn't use my state tax for free , nor did I file it e-file. I don't understand if you didn't use it on the first taxes you prepared than it never asked you again to used your free state tax and don't like this at all. It comes with one free state and I want minds.
What's great about it: well explained my grand daughter could use it
What's not so great: couldn't find my free state tax to filed where is it ????

Turbo tax is easy and gets you thinking about your financials. It allows you to look at what you do throughout the year and what you spent money on and process. Taxes aren't always good but they are necessary and they offer you a chance to be involved in your own spending and realities.
On the flip side, I would like to know year to year what tax laws have changed and a brief on them to be thinking as I go through the forms. I always feel like I've left something out as I go through turbo tax which can make for stress and uncertainty. But alas, if I feel that way, then may be going back to the accountant works better. You make the choice, but for many who don't have dynamic portfolio's to account for , Turbo tax is a great tool and resource.
What's great about it: straight forward questions
What's not so great: Always feel like like I'm missing something important to add or take away
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using this since its inception, probably over 25 years. It has done a journeyman like job the whole time. This year, the installation problem with the corrupt type font in Windows was disarming because Turbo Tax could not identify the error, it just failed to install. I had to go hunting around blindly to find what to do. There could be better information for the users.
What's great about it: Steady product for many, many years.
What's not so great: Installation error because of corrupt type font in Windows.

very easy to use and no confusion. Shouldn't have to pay t0 efile when I paid extra for an additional state return.

2013 Tax Return

I wouldn't choose any other tax preparation--including paying an accountant. Very thorough and easy to use.
What's great about it: ease of use/e-filing/help system/audit defense
What's not so great: updates

Always reliable

I want to thank you--I just retired this year. I thought I might have a hard time figuring out forms and changes in my financial situation, but you helped me go right thru it. I like how I can go back and forth over the return and correct my information.
What's great about it: tough parts are always easy to understand
What's not so great: can't think of any

Gets better every year!

This was one of the most pleasant tax filing experiences I've had. It seems to have gone easier than previous years. The streamlining of the filing is much appreciated. Now, if you could automate the 'payment due' like my bill pay I would surely be ecstatic.
What's great about it: super ease of use
What's not so great: miss the "saving" and other info baloons

99% great easy top use. REALLY DOES Maximize refund - Minimize Payment due.
What's great about it: Interview GUIDE, filing Info from prior and current year makes it easy to compare for completeness of curerent year info
What's not so great: SLIGHTLY UNCLEAR ON ATM MORTGAGE INTEREST work sheet, DONATION ADDRESS IN SEPERATE FILE FROM DONATION NAMES
