should have done this sooner!

I could truly only review when the return hits the bank but the program hits all the marks advertised and this at an affordable price.
What's great about it: quick and fairly easy
What's not so great: needs more auto fill extensions for blocks 1,3 and 5
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

State Return "AMENDED"?

I think the state return is too expensive to file. Also, I cannot even e-file my VA return if I wanted to because it keeps coming back as an AMENDED return, which it is not. I must have checked something wrong and I cannot find what it is, but it is the original return - NOT amended.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate and get done quickly

Dependable program

I have used TurboTax almost since its inception and never have had any problem. It does take time but so would the collection of all the data necessary for a CPA to do it.
What's great about it: You use with confidence

State Refund Woes

I love Turbo Tax, I can usually figure out any problems I have. The guide is wonderful and I like the retention of information. What I don't like is that I have problems with the state filing. There should be a step-by-step when you have a free filing and it tries to charge you.
What's great about it: Program is great, I've used it for years, its easy simple and I can understand most of it.
What's not so great: State filing asks for money, I have a free filing with Deluxe.

We failed to make the required distributions for an IRA for the first two years. the program stated it would come up with help on a waiver but it never came up again.

Tax Returns Made Easy

The steps were easy to follow and convenient by transferring information from the previous year's return. I would have liked to know more info, such as what the standard deduction amount was before completing the deductions category.
For the VA State return, the instructions are not as complete and descriptive as the Federal Return. In the State return, codes are used for deductions and subtractions but the code descriptions are not included anyplace in the Turbo Tax program. Also, how certain deductions are calculated are not available in the program.
What's great about it: The Step by step guide is very convenient
What's not so great: Could use more info before begining a category
