Another Good Year

TurboTax does get better with age. However, there are a few bugs. I had to manually enter the mortgage interest number even though TurboTax imported the 1098 from my bank; then I had to double-check the Schedule A to make sure I didn't double-dip. TurboTax said I didn't qualify for the college tuition deduction until the review at the end - then I got it (yay bigger refund!). And why do I have to manually confirm numbers from last year's state taxes when the file is still on my computer in TurboTax format?
We humans aren't perfect, so neither will TurboTax be. But as long as TurboTax remains on its upward trajectory, I will continue to use it. I used a competing product before, and TurboTax is definitely better.
What's great about it: Easy interview
What's not so great: A bug-bug here, a bug-bug there...

What a dissapointment in turbo tax

Up to this year turbo tax has been relatively easy to go through and complete the taxes for my family menbers. However this year I had problems downloading and electronically transmitting. All without your support. In previous years you provided a chat room with one of your techs to assist, now you expect the community with the same problems to solve all problems. THAT IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
What's great about it: when there are no problems turbo tax is great
What's not so great: diffulcult to install

on my 10th year of Turbo Tax, I wait till the last minute and just efile. This year, I had a few glitches due to switching to a Mac but a friend helped me and the data transferred so all was well

Quick and easy

It took me about 18-20 hours to gather all the paperwork and get organized - about 3 hours to go through and input it all
forms are easy to read/understand

What's great about it: Took much less time to fill out the forms than it did to gather the data
What's not so great: still had to pay taxes (Not Quickens problem)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
