2014 Federal and State returns

- Retired military persons receive 1099-R vise W-2. Could make that distinction more clear in the income-source section by offering that as an option, or, at least noting it for the user.
- Oregon allows subtraction for service prior to 1991(?). Turbo Tax applies the correction, but not until the review process... Could make that more clear a little earlier in the program.

What's great about it: Imports last year's return to ease the filing process
What's not so great: Some areas confusing with regard to retired military info

Cumbersome in some areas

My biggest complain is that when I have to go back to change or otherwise address an area already handled, it's difficult to get to the exact point/page without going through multiple pages to get there.
What's great about it: Comprehensive approach that helps to discover missed areas and errors
What's not so great: Cumbersome navigation that wasts time to backtrack to historical points

Best Tax Program available

TurboTax is a great program. However, even though my return is rather simple, I always have problems figuring out some of the terminology and basis for answers. TurboTax still needs to get more financial businesses, government employee accounts and employer accounts tied in electronically for auto downloading.
What's great about it: All the forms plus electronic filing
What's not so great: Help files don't go far enough...difficult to understand terms I'm not familiar with.

2014 Turbo Tax

Needed to apportion one out of four incomes. There was no visible way to exempt three of the incomes so I had to apportion all four, three with no instate Mass income. As such, turbo tax told me I couldn't electronically file my return and I needed to print it and file via US Mail. A simple check box stating the income is not subject to Mass State tax should fix this and thus I'd only have one income to apportion.
What's great about it: Ease in filing out federal taxes
What's not so great: Mass State Tax
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's not so great: Need more guidence when Job Hunting. This should be a Seperate feature with guidence.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Filing Made Easy

I really enjoyed using Turbo Tax. The only problem I had was transferring my last year return from an external hard dive. Hopefully next year it will be even easier because I will purchase this software again!
What's great about it: Very Easy to use
What's not so great: The only con is it cost too much to e-file State
