Not sure when to start the process since there always seems to be a series of updates during the first few weeks of the new year. Is it really necessary to wait until about the first of February?

Great software!

Love this program. My husband became legally blind after a stroke in 2010 and I took over finances. Because he'd always used TurboTax, my taking over this responsibility was seamless. The only thing I'd change is maybe an introduction before getting stated to let users know all the documentation they'll need to file. (I'm pretty organized, so the longest trek I made was to the driveway to check vehicle registration fees). Thank you so much!
What's great about it: The caution you take to make the return complete and eligible for every deduction
What's not so great: Lots of documentary paperwork needed

Year of Problems: TurboTax 2013

Tried to e-file after paying for the State e-file charge. Wouldn't allow me to e-file after numerous tries. All contacts to support ended up in them hanging up on me and the call in wait was 30-plus minutes. Every time they put me on hold or transferred me we got disconnected! I am disappointed that I even bought the TurboTax program this year after all the disappointments and energy spent to no avail! I will be watching consumer ratings for other programs for next year.
What's great about it: Familiar product I have used for 3 years
What's not so great: Would not allow e-filing and customer service was zip!

4 hour taxes

I had all the tax documents in hand when I started, but from the time I started with personal information through e filing for state and federal, tax preparation took only four hours. And, I took a supper break in the middle of the process!
What's great about it: start to finish with state and federal tax in just four hours

This is the second year I have used Turbo Tax and I will not do it by hand again.

I have been using Turbo Tax perhaps since it was first made avaiable and would not use any other program. I found it to be very easy to use, it include very good help; and the guide is something that help you to feel very comfortable completing your return.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and very reliable.

The program is easy to follow and the chance of missing something is really small. You are asked at every step whether toad information of move on. Fast, easy to understand and accurate.
What's great about it: Was able to send returns the day I received my last receipt
