Turbo Tax is a very comprehensive and user friendly tax program for anyone to use. Updates are always checked for the user and downloaded easily to help maximize the accuracy and potential refund benefits for the taxpayer.
What's great about it: Easy program to follow and help is available along the process.
What's not so great: None that I can think of.

Taxes are done!

This is my fifth year in a row to use TurboTax. Being able to access information from past tax returns saves a lot of time and typing. Quick and easy e-file option keeps me from having to package everything up and make a trip to the post office.
What's great about it: Easy format to follow for average person
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Time-Saver

Saves me a bundle of time and frustration. Turbo Tax does all the work, research, and homework for you.
What's great about it: Does all the homework and research for you. No need to read all those Form Instructions, etc.
What's not so great: Just have trouble with the HSA, etc., part. Doesn't really make sense to me.

Turbo Tax is great!

Really enjoy that Turbo Tax seems to know all of my important numbers so I don't have to type them all in!

A Believer!

I would and have recommended Turbo tax to individuals that were afraid to do their own taxes. I remember the first time I was introduced to Turbo, and the anxiety that I had. After 5 years later, I'm still here.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is very user friendly and does not instill FEAR in completing your taxes.
What's not so great: At this time, I cannot find any, but I'm sure there are a few.

Needs improvement

I have been using TurboTax now for about 10 years. One year, in August, the IRS billed me for thousands of dollars that it claimed I had underpaid in my return, using TurboTax. A couple of years later, the IRS sent me a check for overpaying. I never know what to expect with TurboTax. All I can say is I use it because I hate sitting down with paper and a calculator.
Each year I expect to see improvements in workflow, tips, advice, the help menus, and BASIC calculations, and they never come. When you need help, this program sends you on a wild goose chase, expecting you to dig through thousands of Q&As and help documents like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Intuit needs to invest in improving its help menus instead of just sending customers to a huge database of questions that happen to contain one or two of the keywords in their original question. It is not possible to get a quick answer to a question. You must drill down into the knowledge base and open and read countless irrelevant Q&As.
Also, the program should provide better explanations as to why things are happening -- for example, why this year your medical deduction is a fraction of what it used to be in the past when all else is essentially equal. This should display on the page where you are entering information, and not after some time-consuming search through the Q&As as described above.
This program just seems old and dated and is still not as user friendly as it could be. It needs a "smart" update. An innovative developer could make TurboTax 100x more user friendly and intuitive than it is now, and has been for the last decade.
What's great about it: makes filing taxes easier than doing it by hand
What's not so great: this program needs serious updating
