Like most of it

I wish there were an automatic save built into TurboTax. I spent an hour entering contributions, addresses (after looking them up, etc), then accidentally hit the wrong button and it was all lost. I know we should all save often, but in this case I just forgot because I was looking up all the information. Had to go back and do it all again.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use and has good information
What's not so great: Way too easy to lose what you've just spent an hour entering.

Easy to complete

I've been using Turbo Tax for about as long as it has existed. I have had a problem only once, and that was under unusual circumstances. I am thoroughly satisfied with the ease of completing ALL the forms and especially appreciate the fact that TT tells me when I need a specific form.
What's great about it: Everything works very smoothly. 5 stars
What's not so great: No cons

Great Tax Program

Great program!! We have been using T-Tax for years and are very pleased with the results and ease of use. However, the T-Tax program has an apparent glitch which asked for the address of NYState Unemployment Insurance. Kinda of odd the way the program asked for it. Should have been caught earlier!!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: T-Tax forgot to ask for NYState address until filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

A "Standard"

Been using it for about 5 years. Was a diehard pencil and eraser preparer for decades because I was afraid of the reliability of a PC based tax system. I'm thoroughly convinced that it is FAR better than I could ever hope to be with pencil and eraser.
That said, there are still times when Turbo Tax is lacking guidance for the user. This year it asked me whether I wanted to file a certain form, and I had to go to the IRS web site to find out what it was all about. That explanation should have been presented to me inside Turbo Tax.. Small gripe, of course, because Turbo Tax is 98% perfect out of the box with constant updates as needed. The bulk of the 2% imperfect is usually ease of use issues or clarity of its explanations.
That said, there are still times when Turbo Tax is lacking guidance for the user. What's great about it: Trustworth and accurate. Easy to use.
What's not so great: The NJ Sales tax input form looks like simplistic spreadsheet without any abiity to sort (by date or spend category)

State taxes are pretty bad. If you do two states, they don't pull data from each other and ask you a lot of questions about the other state return that TT should know the answer to (but are hard to answer on your own without being a tax expert).

Simple and Thorough

Friend recommended since I didn't like my tax guy. Now that my finances are simpler, this is the way to go. Everything worked well. It asked me about all the deductions that I was watching for, such as teacher expenses, the part of the DMV registration fees that are deductible. Was able to do state taxes, too. I lIke that it will save my return and I can have it available for next year. I was also glad I could file and pay right there with my bank account, with no fee. When my tax preparer did it, I had to send in a check or pay a fee to use credit card. I would recommend Turbo Tax Deluxe to others.
What's great about it: Easy, worked great on a Mac, moved right along, helps you e-file/pay
What's not so great: couldn't find spot for donating food to local Interfaith food bank- not furniture, not cash
