Easy, fast

Makes an un-fun chore easier to bear. Saving of prior year's information as a starting point, ability to import financial information and ItsDeductible link for valuation of noncash charitable contributions really help.

What's great about it: Convenient, detailed, quick, easy to refer back to tax forms of previous years

I've used Turbo Tax for years and I like the ease of use as well as the thoroughness of the product (such as the double-checking process for errors). Overall, very pleased with product and will continue to use.
What's great about it: Used for years. I like simplicity of use and double-checking processs.
What's not so great: Increasing price

Better to also give marginal tax rate paid in addition to average tax rate.
Also, when looking for a form, help should give form number or bring up form. That will be easier.

Decent but not making progress

Fourteen years ago I started using TurboTax and it was very similar to today. Scratch that, it was better. The constant nagging questions to up-sell advanced features slows down progress at many points. One wrong click, and you've acquired a new but unwanted service. The price of features like adding a state has soared, and the price of filing to the states has as well.
In the meantime, the program has failed to make progress in making complex forms clearer. The worksheets are not easily accessible to review while working with them and often going back and changing a wrong answer, particularly on state forms, is challenging. Sometimes manually deleting a worksheet or form and starting over is the best bet.
And yet, I continue to use it.
What's great about it: Uses prior year data
What's not so great: Hidden prices and annoying up-selling questions
Pros: I bought or sold investments
